My wife and two kids are new to the area from Colorado and we’re considering purchasing our own boat and this was by far way more cost effective vs renting a boat to check out the area and we simply booked online and showed up to the boat which was very easy to find and get to the boat and we jumped on the boat and off we went. The tour took us around pool 5a of the Mississippi and we saw tons of eagles and wildlife. The captain explained anything you would want to know about the river and the area. If you had a question you just simply ask. Very informational and the captain and crew were absolutely awesome. Good humor. Good choice of beverages. If your in Winona area this is a must do with the family or even just with your significant other. When your brain needs a roto-rooter to clean out the cobwebs, here's the perfect trip for you. Being on the water is always calming and this trip takes it to the nth degree. Nice boat, good staff, wonderful scenery. Only wish list I would have would be to see if there could be a trip that goes further upstream to get to view some of the other cliff areas. The crew's commentary on the trip enhanced the experience. You got an historical view of the parts of the river still in existence. We also got the chance to see both bald eagles and vultures soaring on the thermals above the valley. All in all, a good experience.See more..
Italian dinner was excellent, cruise was very, very nice, staff was friendly. However, when we boarded the boat for the evening cruise either the air conditioner wasn't working properly, or it wasn't on at all. The windows on the lower level were all closed. Guests were getting upset as it was a 90 degree day on July 15. We asked if we could open the windows and the server checked with the captain who said we could not. When food was served, many guests went to the upper open air deck to dine. Later we got the ok to open the windows, but it definitely put a damper on the otherwise fun evening. I think this could have been prevented if checked earlier in the day as the cruise wasn't until 6:30pm especially a July night in WI.See more..

Way to Go Outfitters is really the only way to go! Before choosing an outfitter, I carefully read every review in Trip Advisor. Way to Go had by far the best reviews. We did a 4 hr canoe trip with Jake as our guide and those 4 hours were hands down the best 4 hours of our one month, 16 state vacation! We are a city dwelling senior citizen couple without prior canoeing experience and that short time with Jake convinced me that we could return for a multi-day trip. I can’t say enough good things about Jake—he is everything you would want in a guide (and more) and he absolutely loves what he does! I also want to return in the winter for dog sledding!See more..
We took the 1:00 PM sightseeing tour on Saturday, July 22, 2017. I ordered my tickets online and prepaid. It is $17 per adult and $15 for seniors 65+. We were three adults. We ate at the Lake House on Pepin, on property, prior to this sailing. Boarding begins one hour prior to sailing. We wanted to sit outside on the upper deck so we got on board at exactly 12:00 noon. We sat near the rear of the boat near the paddlewheels. If you want this option, arrive early! By 12:20 the entire upper deck was fully occupied. After that any outside exposure was standing room only! The tour lasts 90 minutes. The captain is funny and informative. The lake was like glass! Very smooth and comfortable. Went on a Sunday, Fall Cruise on Bella Vista. Glad I took a jacket, because the view from the front deck was so wonderful I actually ate my luncheon outside. It's kinda quirky that there are nearly floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom. The interior was lovely. When I registered online, they asked about food allergies. We reserved the Voyager Ultimate package for a birthday dinner cruise for 20 people. The minute we stepped on board it became apparent that Captain Josh and his crew (Kim and Debbie) were intent on insuring that we all had a great time. The dinner was scheduled as a buffet, but because of the smaller size of our group, Kim and Debbie were kind enough to provide table service. The bar was well-stocked and service was prompt. The lake was a little choppy that day, so skipper Josh did his best to make the ride as smooth as possible while providing an interesting narrative about all the sites along the way. We took the cruise to Split Rock Lighthouse. Crew was very friendly and gave a lot of information on the fishing industry on the shores of Lake Superior along with other history of the lake. The view of Split Rock Lighthouse was nice and the crew offered to take your picture with the lighthouse in the background. The weather was sunny and warm and just a bit windy. Eric took us out on a boat tour which was great! We didn’t have a boat but wanted to get out on the water at Voyageurs. He was friendly and punctual and knowledgeable. He also helped us book a canoe for the next day while we were on the boat with him. He didn’t charge us the delivery fee to get the canoe to Rainy Lake visitor center since there were already canoes there! We went on the sunset cruise. The captain was very informative with the lake and points of interest. On the way back, another boat was coming out of a somewhat narrow channel and the next thing we knew, a race was on. It was exciting and exhilarating and would absolutely love to do it again! We went to Kettle Falls and there was a restaurant there called The Tilton Hilton. We had to go there because there is one in Ohio at Indian Lake that we had all been to. Weather and a busy boat schedule thwarted out plans for 2 years but we finally got out on Lake Superior this week. Our trip was everything I could have hoped for. Covid restrictions left my granddaughter and I the only people on the boat. Good breeze and waves, but not too much. Mark was very helpful to my granddaughter teaching her about the lake (lots of facts I had forgotten too) and giving her a tour of the boat beneath. Altogether a lovely afternoon. I understand on warmer and quieter days they do sail and swim trips and hope we can do that next year!See more..

Flight instructor, Dave, explained everything very well and in detail. The boat captain and him were very knowledgeable and set up really fast. It was an amazing birthday experience. i took this leisurely and beautiful cruise over the weekend. the weather was lovely and the water calm. we watched aquatic 'acrobatics' by other pleasure craft nearby and that was so much fun as well as looking at some of the great mansions and homes along the waterfront. the staff was just wonderful and one of the young ladies brought us a map to the table to show us our route and answered all our questions. and free ice water! you can bring your own lunch or order one from them.See more..

Had the BEST time ice fishing with Brady and Baxstar fishing. I cannot recommend him enough! We did a guided ice fishing tour. It was incredible. Brady had everything set up and ready for us so when we arrived we could get straight to the fun. He had top notch equipment and allowed us to fish using multi types of poles, lures, and bait - in multiple locations on the lake! We had never been ice fishing so he was great about explaining how everything worked, gave us tips and tricks, taught us about equipment, and was able to answer our questions - all while being very patient. Not only is Brady a great guide (experienced, professional, knowledgeable, etc.), he’s also a great person. He was very friendly and we enjoyed spending the day with him. Communication was easy, prompt, and clear. We knew what to expect, what to bring, where to be, etc. He covered everything with us and made us feel at ease and excited. We had an epic time!! This is a great short boat tour of 2.5 hours departing from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center of Voyageurs National Park. The boat has an enclosed lower deck with some open seating at the back of the boat, and a good number of open air seats on the upper deck. There's one stop with about a 1/4 mile walk to see old mining sites, but otherwise you tour Rainy Lake while the ranger explains the history of the park and the area. Our ranger was very informative and engaging. The crew points out known bald eagle nests and beaver lodges. They also try to maneuver to get good photo ops for any loons they encounter. Apparently loons are not present in large numbers on Rainy Lake because of lack of good nesting areas. All in all this was a great tour and a nice introduction to Rainy Lake. And the crew tries to make sure that everyone gets a chance to sit on the upper deck and enjoy the better vantage point if they want to.See more..

This pontoon paddle pub cruise was amazing. The boat itself was top notch. They thought of everything when they built this boat. The seats are so comfortable and the coolers and ice are built into the bar in front of you so you never have to get up. They have charging stations with usb ports and cords. You can charge your phone so you will never miss a photo opportunity. They supply music or you can plug in your own play list. The bathroom on board is definitely better than a port a john. It's clean, comfortable, and has a flushing toilet. The boat has a canopy to help block some of the sun on hot days. The captain and all the owners we encountered were extremely nice and accomedating. The lake was beautiful. We did the 3 hour cruise for a bachelorette party. What was nice about this boat is when you got tired or just didn't feel like peddling they have a motor to take over for you. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time on the lake. I would definitely book this place again.See more..
