    This is likely the best kept secret in Minnesota. In this museum you will fine masterpieces from all your favorite artists. I was thrilled to see so many from the Hudson River Art Guild. When I first walked in and saw all the rooms of art, some I recognized from books, it took my breath away. It is easy to stroll through this museum to take in so many wonderful works of art from Monet to local artists. They have a nice gift shop as well. Their exhibits change frequently and thus returning here is always a joy. Everyone should visit this gem. See more..

    I knew nothing about pottery before I visited so it was a learning experience. It was very interesting to see the change in pottery and function over the years. It started as functional large jugs and crocks and ended up over time with beautiful, hand painted dinnerware. They are supported from donations and their giftshop. The guides are excellent.     The Art Center again hosted a "secret garden tour" again this year. You buy tickets and are given addresses of people that have opened up their yards to show all of the work they have put into the gardens. The proceeds go to benefit the Art Center. I was surprised that they had it this year, however everyone did social distancing and wore face masks. It was an excellent way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny day in Owatonna.     Isn’t the bison painted Starry night be enough for your visit to this museum? Nice collection of art. Cooling was not working when we visited so 2nd floor was closed. I bet we missed some excellent work. Admission was free. Should check out this place if you are in Fargo-Moorhead area. And yes this one falls in Minnesota. See more..
