Was blown away by Judas Priest & Queensryche in concert. This is a hockey arena though, so the ice was in under the flooring - take a jacket. See more..

Chatfield Center for the Arts is a 501c3 non-profit organization that operates within a building that was originally built in 1916 to serve as an institution of learning for the children of Chatfield. This historic property now houses programming in the visual and performing arts to inspire and connect future generations and provides ample space for us to enhance the quality of life and ignite regional vibrancy in Southeast Minnesota. The Potter Auditorium, a newly renovated 658-seat venue with state-of-the-art sound and tons of small town charm, is quickly becoming known for the diverse lineup of music and performing arts events brought to the space. The American Legion Room, is most utilized for intimate house-concert style folk performances as well as indoor art fairs and as a rental for private parties. The 1916 Gallery features art by artists near and far. See more..
  5. 5.0 Toimi School Community Center (1 review)
    - Unique history of early Finnish setters in Northern Minnesota

    Toimi School Community Center image
This large (by rural school standards) schoolhouse was built in 1914, and was originally a one-room schoolhouse. The growing local community added on a 2nd classroom and also living quarters for the teacher. The schoolhouse and grounds have been nicely restored with plenty of historical information and photos. The annual Toimi School Kesa Juhla (mid-summer festival) is on June 22, 2019 and the schoolhouse is open on Saturdays only during the summer. Down the gravel road to the south you can visit the Children's Cemetery, the Toimi Cemetery, Historic Petrell Hall and the abandoned Fairbanks Town site. This schoolhouse is really a hidden gem not on any typical tourist route. Being 50% Finnish myself it holds particular interest for me. See more..

I loved the Norwegian murals both inside and outside the museum. There is no charge to visit, but donations are gladly accepted. The first floor has an exhibit on a cartoonist who drew a Norwegian cartoon. The museum also has exhibits on the second floor. There is no elevator. You can learn more about the history of the Spring Grove area. There is also a gift shop with books, sweaters and other merchandise. The museum is right next door to the movie theater. See more..
