    Kerfoot Canopy Tour image
Easily one of the best times of our lives was doing the canopy tour at Kerfoot Canopy Tour! The course is absolutely beautiful and eases its guests into through three different sections. The first third was heavily wooded and gradually built us up for what was to come. The middle third takes your breath away as we moved above the canopy and enjoyed numerous long lines up to 1200'. The final third was simply exhilarating as we enjoyed the fastest lines on the property. The entire cast was outstanding making you feel more like a family member than a guest! See more..

White Wilderness Sled Dog Adventures image
White wilderness was great!! My wife and I ,late 60s traveled from florida with our son and grandson,14 the day after Christmas to do the3/4 day dog sledding trip. The crew was top notch and taught us how to harness the dogs to the sled and also taught us how to do the mushing ourselves .What a blast! The dogs were so friendly and raring to go! Eliza was our guide and she was fantastic ! She led us through the most beautiful snow covered trails and then we stopped for lunch and cooked brats on an open fire near the trail! It was truly a winter wonderland! A special thanks to Peter McClellend ,the owner for providing a safe, super experience in the north woods. It was a trip we'll never forget! See more..

    - Hands Down, Best Guided Canoe Trip!

Way To Go Canoe Outfitters image
Way to Go Outfitters is really the only way to go! Before choosing an outfitter, I carefully read every review in Trip Advisor. Way to Go had by far the best reviews. We did a 4 hr canoe trip with Jake as our guide and those 4 hours were hands down the best 4 hours of our one month, 16 state vacation! We are a city dwelling senior citizen couple without prior canoeing experience and that short time with Jake convinced me that we could return for a multi-day trip. I can’t say enough good things about Jake—he is everything you would want in a guide (and more) and he absolutely loves what he does! I also want to return in the winter for dog sledding! See more..
  4. 5.0 Points Unknown (53 reviews)
    - A trip well worth making
    Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Points Unknown image
You want to get up to Points Unknown for a really unique experience. We loved returning to the north woods of Minnesota, but this time, enjoyed being off-the-grid in a lovely and comfortable guest suite. We reveled in spending time with a beautiful pack of Hedlund Huskies, learning from owner Linda Newman all about the dogs and her work with them. Unplugged from daily life in a Minnesota summer was glorious, especially when the entire pack howled at night. Linda is a wonderful teacher and a terrific host. See more..

Flight instructor, Dave, explained everything very well and in detail. The boat captain and him were very knowledgeable and set up really fast. It was an amazing birthday experience. Went up over 3,000 feet and soared with the eagles. Beautiful scenery over Lake Pepin. Highly recommend Eagle Hand Gliding! See more..
  6. 5.0 Sunset Glow Guide Service (13 reviews)
    - Best Fishing Weekend Ever!
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:30 PM Boat Tours • Fishing Charters & Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Sunset Glow Guide Service image
Last fall my brother, nephew and I were looking to book a fishing trip – given the pandemic situation, we needed some fresh air and fresh fish. We found a weekend with Dave at Sunset Glow Guide Service and were not disappointed … in fact it exceeded our expectations! Living on a lake myself I understand what it means to “know” a lake but Dave brought it to another level. Not only does he know Lake Vermillion, he knows how to find whatever fish you want to catch and brings the expertise, equipment and mojo to land them in your net. And he makes a mean shore lunch! Dave is a true professional, an expert technical craftsman and a gracious host. We caught our limit of fish, experienced the beauty of the lake, and had a lot of fun in a safe, comfortable environment. If you are looking for the same experience, I would highly recommend Sunset Glow Guide Service … you won’t be disappointed!! See more..

Took my 3 year old for a pony ride and he had the time of his life. Staff was very friendly and you get to lead the pony yourself which is something I really liked since it made it possible for all of us to be involved and I think thats what made the experience so awesome. We will be frequent visitors for sure! See more..

Dog sled rides with Kiwatchi Adventures is an amazing experience! Chuck, the owner/operator is experienced, knowledgeable, and very personable, too. He is definitely an expert musher. He took out our entire four-person family including our 6 and 8 year old kids and we all had great fun exploring the north-woods back country by dog sled. We felt safe the whole time and made some great memories to last a lifetime with this unique winter adventure! Highly recommend Kiwatchi Adventures if you are looking for some winter fun. See more..
  10. 5.0 Maplewood Nature Center (2 reviews)
    - What a find for a nature walk, meditating, birding and learning
Sunday: Walking Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Maplewood Nature Center image
I take nature photos, so we came here. There is a welcome center with lots of learning material for elementary school age children. There is a picnic table in the shade. A path leads you around a small lake, and you have options about how far you want to walk. There is a floating boardwalk, it allowed us to get out close to the mallards and other ducks. At the start of the walk there is a sign making it clear that this place is for quiet enjoyment, not for bicycles and etc. The part of the path we took (to the left) was mostly shady and there were no mosquitoes there at the time. 11. 3.5 Voyageur Tour Boat Grand Tour (2 reviews)
    - Great short boat tour where you see wildlife and an old mine.
Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
Voyageur Tour Boat Grand Tour image
This is a great short boat tour of 2.5 hours departing from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center of Voyageurs National Park. The boat has an enclosed lower deck with some open seating at the back of the boat, and a good number of open air seats on the upper deck. There's one stop with about a 1/4 mile walk to see old mining sites, but otherwise you tour Rainy Lake while the ranger explains the history of the park and the area. Our ranger was very informative and engaging. The crew points out known bald eagle nests and beaver lodges. They also try to maneuver to get good photo ops for any loons they encounter. Apparently loons are not present in large numbers on Rainy Lake because of lack of good nesting areas. All in all this was a great tour and a nice introduction to Rainy Lake. And the crew tries to make sure that everyone gets a chance to sit on the upper deck and enjoy the better vantage point if they want to. See more..
