Flight instructor, Dave, explained everything very well and in detail. The boat captain and him were very knowledgeable and set up really fast. It was an amazing birthday experience. Went up over 3,000 feet and soared with the eagles. Beautiful scenery over Lake Pepin. Highly recommend Eagle Hand Gliding! See more..

We worked the gliding into a trip from Wisconsin Dells. My 7 year old daughter, 10 year old son and I all went up with Don. Absolutely wicked. Not at all scary when you get into it, but like most cool things, one is a little apprehensive at first. Don is laid back and professional. Our family happened to drive past Stanton Airfield this past weekend while driving home from Northfield. We noticed planes taking gliders up in the air and a number of families watching so we stopped to check it out. We were impressed that you could literally walk right up to the airfield to see the planes and gliders and my son was even allowed to sit in one of the glider's cockpits! There is a play area at the airfield for kids, while parents can sit by on a lawn chair and watch the planes/gliders taking off and landing. We noticed a small museum inside in the airfield and found that flight lessons are provided at the airfield. We are hoping to next either pay for a flight in a plane or a glider - these are provided at a very reasonable cost. See more..
