4.0Aamodt's Apple Ochard(56 reviews) - Enjoyed a rainy Saturday!! Monday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Farms
My sister had been here years ago. It was a rainy Saturday and there was going to be live music! We enjoyed the cider flight! Chips and their Honey crisp apple salsa!! Jeff was our helpful bartender!! They got REALLY busy. There was 5 or 6 stagette/hen parties going on! The music was nice and NOT too loud! We will be back when the weather is nice and we can sit outside. The issue was the parking, it was very wet and muddy, I didn’t want to park anywhere near the lake!!See more..

3.0Afton Apple Orchard(34 reviews) - Lots to do here but very, very busy on fall weekends - recommend going on a week day Monday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Farms
An amazing and extremely busy in the fall. Recommend going on a week day if possible. This is a wonderful place to visit as there is much to do here with youngsters. HOWEVER it is very well known - we came on a beautiful October 2021 Sunday and I'd estimate that there were more than 1000 people here! Lines moved fast inside the retail store (which you can go into without paying an entrance fee - the picking area is not free). Strongly recommend visiting here on a week day if at all possible. Many things to do with kids.See more..

I almost hate to review as I’m afraid they will sell out and I won’t get anymore! We have tried every variety but Tango is the best hands down! Our only regret is that we don’t get up here that often to be able to enjoy them longer! We bought 3 bags of apples during Labor Day weekend and they are gone already! Back for a couple days this week to get some more! They have a variety for everyone. They also make fresh apple cider donuts. Their scones are pretty yummy too. We have also enjoyed a variety of jams and mustards! Apple pies and cobbler are available as well although we have not tried those.See more..

2.5Minnetonka Orchard(11 reviews) - Dog Issues Speciality & Gift Shops • Farms
Dog friendly orchard but owner had two dogs running around off leash. The little one was fine but the big white poodle, “Olive” was not. Very aggressive barking and kept coming after my dog. Staff working the donut shop stood and watched as I had to physically pull Olive off my dog and they did nothing, even as we asked for help. Not okay. And I do not blame the dog- that is the owner’s responsibility. Sadly we had to leave after paying $10 a piece just to enter because this dog would not leave us a lone.See more..

So much fun! We went with three adults and three kids (ages 7,5,5) and everybody had a fantastic time! Ashley took us on the tasting tour and was so knowledgeable, patiently answering all our questions. During the tour we interacted with a two day old baby goat that the kids named Chloe (and REALLY wanted to take home), bottle fed a kid (goat), pet all the very friendly animals (goats, dogs, bunnies and chicken), milked a goat by hand, tasted their goat cheese and pasteurized milk. The goats are surprisingly good self-cleaners and very friendly. This was a great way for kids and adults to visit a working farm and see where our food comes from. Book in advance. Every tour is for your small, private group and weekends through August were already booked when I contacted them in late May, so we settled on a Friday. The tour was about 1.5hrs and an incredible value for the experience. I highly recommend it! And the Herb Minnesota Montrachet cheese is fresh, mild and delicious!See more..

4.5Nelson Farm(3 reviews) - Great Day At the Farm. Spent More than 3 hours Farms
We took the grandchildren to Nelson's farm the last weekend in September. It was a bit chilly, luckily the sun came out in the afternoon. We spent 5 hours out there, the children (five of them ages 3-10) never ran out of things to do. Loved the farm had an amazing time. Farmer Nelson has created many activities that children and adults can do outside as well as inside the buildings. See the distorted mirror room and a home built out of sod. There are mazes to explore (even a dark maze), trails to walk, games to play, animals to see, swings in the barn, and carts to ride. He also has warm running water with soap and paper towels to wash your hands. Porta-Potties are available. The food carts are provided by the farm as well as private vendors. Worth it for a day with the family. See more..
This place is run by a very friendly family, and the proceeds go to a college fund. We came for the corn maze, and it was so well done. There is a map, and clues to help you find your way. It did take us 90 minutes to go through, and there are some hilly areas....it’s not for everyone. We are prepared to make this maze a tradition, though! It was a lot of fun. There are also lots of photos opportunities, food, crafts, playground equipment, etc. great for families and prices are very reasonable.See more..

5.0Foothills Alpaca Farm(1 review) - Meet Alpacas on a Alpaca Farm Spent < 1 hour Farms What fun! You can visit the farm and meet the friendly, unusual alpacas bred for their gorgeous wool that is used for weaving, knitting and other fiber arts. The owners, Scott and Linda Elmore, live at the farm and are experts in the raising of these docile, curious, animals. Although you can visit throughout the year, call ahead. Sometimes they may be on the road showing their exotic herd, or having a special event at the farm for other alpaca farmers. There is a little gift shop that you can buy scarves, little toys made of alpaca, and other products. I bought several skeins of the alpaca wool that I use to create hand-hooked rugs. I visited with my sister and the Elmore's could not have been more friendly and informative. Kind of an off-the-track destination, but so informative, and the animals are fascinating. It was a little tricky to find. Our GPS had a few "hiccups" getting us there. But it worked!See more..
