Pretty course with wide fairways, many shots over ponds, large fairway and green side sand traps. We played in mid September, after greens had been aerated, which is not ideal. Rough was not especially deep. Green fees riding were $72 ($66 - slight discount after I requested as a senior) This seemed a bit high given very bumpy status of greens. We had an 8:36 tee time and zoomed around the course - about 3 hours, 40 minutes. Course is in the middle of an upscale suburban housing development.See more..

We've always enjoyed hosting it here and this year was no exception. The course received an extraordinary amount of rain a couple days prior and it was able to drain surprisingly well. The layout of the course is fairly generic and doesn't offer a lot of necessarily gorgeous holes, however the difficulty level isn't too bad. Of course length off the tee will ultimately make this course a bit easier. The greens are well maintained with decent speed even with the rain that the course had endured and that is what impressed us when all was said and done. The staff in the pro shop is friendly and accommodating and are good at handling the crowds associated with tournaments. The food menu could use an overhaul, but it is what it is.See more..
For a public park course, Baker is a fantastic track, and when you take the fees into account, it's an exceptional value. Conditions are always excellent, and the layout is reminiscent of the destination courses in the Brainerd area. There are some good "target golf" holes mixed in to keep you thinking, there's some water to contend with, and the woods are an omnipresent threat. Pro shop is small, but the food is great and the selection of clothing is classy and upscale! I'm guessing the location is what keeps traffic light, but if you're in the area or are looking for another hidden gem, check this place out!See more..

One of my favorite courses I've ever played. It sits right along the Mississippi River and provides incredible views. When you're on the #2 tee box, turn around for a great vista over the valley. The par 3's are unique and can be challenging. Powered carts are a must; even with them you'll get plenty of exercise getting to the greens and tee boxes - very hilly. An quiet Monday morning. My biggest impression is that there are just too many blind shots, which will slow play and make the course play harder than maybe it should. Too bad as the maintenance overall was pretty good for a municipal golf course. My handicap is a 6 so i play a reasonable game. On a crowded day, play must really be slow as players would need to walk or drive forward to see where they need to hit the ball and even to see if the group in front has cleared in a few places.See more..
