4.5Assisi Heights(66 reviews) - you can't miss the castle-like, stone buildings on the hill. Convention Centers • Religious Sites
Don't miss the Assisi Heights Convent. The stone buildings are located on a prominent hill overlooking Rochester. This is a beautiful, peaceful place with spectacular architecture. The entrance is an ornate lobby with slate floor, 60 foot tall Italian marble columns, and hand-blown stained glass windows from Germany. The very large granite columns are all identical in shape but of several different colors -- green, blue, brown, etc. Our guide was one of the sisters. She told us that Assisi Heights Convent is a 3-story Italian Romanesque building, the home of the Sisters of St. Francis. The structure bears a striking resemblance to the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Italy.See more..
4.0Father Baraga's Cross(27 reviews) - Nice quick stop Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts • Religious Sites • Scenic Walking Areas
There are small but clear signs on 61 telling you where to turn for the cross. Head down the short road and park in the parking lot at the end. The cross is right behind the lot, impossible to miss! There's also a nice Rocky Beach in the same area so you can spend as little as five minutes to over an hour here, especially if you're looking for agates or just want to enjoy the view of the big lake. The cross has an interesting history as well. See more..
I was pleasantly surprised visiting this temple. One of a kind temple you rarely see those even in India. It is built on a concept; the concept being temple houses smaller individual temples for each God from various parts of India. However the temples and the god statue themselves are exact replica of their counterparts in India. e.g There is Jagannath temple housing lord Jagannath that looks similar to the one in Puri. Likewise one can find a Jain temple, Ayodhya Ram temple, Dakhineswari Kali temple, Tirupati Balaji, Meenaxi temple etc etc. There is also canteen that serves delicious vegetarian meals during lunch times on weekends at a very subsidised price of $5/-. They conduct classes on local indian languages and sessions for music and various forms of art. The place also has plans to build retirement homes near by.See more..
I fist discovered the Watt Munisotaram when I was driving to Mankato from Prior Lake. I saw it peaking out as a drove along the highway and after I passed it, I knew I needed to google it and return for a visit one day. So, I googled it and returned about 2 years later for a real visit. The grounds are very well kept and the buildings, though aged, are in really great shape. I really enjoyed going through the buildings, meditating in the main building, talking to the locals preparing for a retreat, and taking in the surroundings. If you plan to visit, please read and respect the rules that are posted, wear shoes you can easily slip on/off, bring a cash donation, and your camera! I am sure to return.See more..

5.0Church Of St. Peter(1 review) - Beautiful church Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals A very impressive newer church right off Rte. 36 in North St. Paul. The stained glass was strikingly beautiful (it came from closed churches in the northeast, from what I've gathered), and the baldachin, altar, stations, and iconography were lovely as well. The present church was built in the late 2000s, but they retained much of their historic 1910s church as a daily Mass chapel, and part of its wall forms part of the wall of the new sanctuary. Well over 200 people at daily Mass in the big church on my visit (during a parish mission), and the priests seemed good. If you like the older churches in the city center, it's well worth stopping here too!See more..

Eagle Brook is one church with multiple locations. The heart behind everything we do is to reach people for Christ so that lives are transformed. Each weekend service lasts about one hour. We begin with a time of singing and worshiping God, hear a message based on the Bible, and then wrap up by praying together.See more..
Sunday worship services will be held at 10:00 AM The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that through Jesus Christ all humankind may enjoy eternal life with their families in God’s kingdom (see John 3:16). We also believe that we lived with God as spirits before we were born (see Romans 8:16) and that according to His plan of happiness we came to earth to receive physical bodies in order to learn and grow. We also believe that, through the work done in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, family relationships can last forever.
