5.0Baker Park Reserve(15 reviews) - A nice oasis close to the metro Beaches • Hiking Trails • Forests
We frequent this park a few times over the summer as it's close to our home. Our daughter who is currently four enjoys swimming at the beach. Also it's very nice to walk around on the paths. Currently a new playground is being built so we look forward to when that is finished. We've only walked through the campground, never stayed there. The campsites don't appear to be very private. I enjoy sitting on the picnic tables and taking in the lake views.See more..

4.0Two Inlets State Forest(3 reviews) - A peaceful walk State Parks • Forests My fiancée and I walked in the state Forrest when we took a break from fishing on a windy Fall day. We’ve fished many times in the Park Rapids area and I had no idea that such a gorgeous Forrest was nearby. We walked 3 miles on a hilly trail and it was so peaceful and beautiful. We will definitely return for more walks hereSee more..
2.5Voyageurs Forest Overlook(3 reviews) - A nice place to stretch your legs, but not much to see. Spent < 1 hour National Parks • Hiking Trails • Forests
If you need to get out and get a breath of fresh air before you get to the Ash River visitor center, then go ahead and stop here and take the short hike/walk to the overlook. Otherwise there is no reason to stop here. There are plenty of places to take a walk in the woods in the area that are much better.See more..

4.0Kabetogama State Forest(1 review) - Nice trees State Parks • Forests We thought we might find a few birds - but only a few. It was the wrong time of the year for birds. However - we really enjoyed the blue sky, cooler air, and low humidity. There are trails and not really very long ones - and many have loops so you can add or take off a little mileage. You seem to be very near water( lake) much of the time and that is nice. See more..
5.0Wood-rill Scientific And Nature Area(1 review) - Hidden Gem Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails • Forests This is a seldom known regional park. It features old stand trees, low lands/wet lands. The terrain is at times hilly on the foot paths. There is also a bike trail that connects to a regional trail. The sights are wonderful and varied Thank you to the Dayton’s, of the local departments store and Target fame, for donating the land for this scientific study area. See more..
