4.5Willard Munger State Trail(70 reviews) - Fun and close to town Biking Trails • Nature & Wildlife Areas
This was a great short hike! Just challenging enough and worth it to reach the top. I took my dog and she did fine, but it is rocky and a bit of climbing is involved so know yourself and your dog. Took about an hour twenty to go up and back.See more..
My favorite park in the north metro, Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park has trails on the east side of the Mississippi River, north and south of the Coon Rapids Dam. My favorite trail is north of the Visitor Center (and the parking areas). The section along the river is asphalt, and the section through the forest is limestone-covered. My usual trip is up one side and down the other. Both the river trail and the forest trail are kept up year-around. The wildlife and plants are marvelous. A real attempt is made to keep this trail as natural as possible. The short loop is about 2 miles, and the longer one is about 3 miles. I visit in every season of the year!See more..
4.5Brown's Creek Trail(46 reviews) - Not a dull moment Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails
We came to Stillwater from an hour away for the day with our electric bikes. It was a very hot Saturday in July. The Brown’s Creek trail runs parallel to a creek in the woods so you don’t feel the heat. We rode one way 6 miles and back into downtown Stillwater and then the 5 mile loop south of Stillwater into Wisconsin and across the historic lift bridge into Stillwater. There are a lot of people who use the trail, pedestrians and bikers. Trail is in good condition. On the Wisconsin side the pedestrian and bikes are two separate parallel paths. If you are traveling through Minnesota and have your bikes with you don’t have a lot of time, this is the trail to do. We started riding mid morning and had lunch in Stillwater afterwards. See more..
My husband and I kayak here just about twice a week when the weather is nice. Hardly anyone uses the lakes and channels during the week, so it's a fairly peaceful paddle. Lots of water birds...herons, egrets, an occasional muskrat...what's not to love about this place!See more..
5.0Root River State Trail(18 reviews) - Beautiful trail in excellent shape! Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
I rode this trail from Houston to Lanesboro. Mostly shaded except for a few miles just west of Rushford. Often by the river itself, nice and cool even on a hot day. The small towns are delightful—especially Rushford Depot Trailhead and the small town of Whalan. See more..
This trail is all asphalt paved, and well maintained. Tree covered high percent so comfortable during the hot summer days. Towns along the trail welcome bicyclists. Highly recommend!See more..
This is a the most challenging portion of the root river system. Bigger hills on the southern end of the trail. There are a number of bridges crossing local camp creek and all need some attention as the surfaces are at an unsafe gap from the trail. All in all I enjoyed this 18 mile off shoot trail as it is a lot less utilized but it is probably not everyone's cup of tea.See more..
5.0Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail(6 reviews) - Flat, beautiful, and well maintained trail in southern Minnesota. Biking Trails • Hiking Trails • Jogging Paths & Tracks
Really beautiful, flat, and long trail in southern Minnesota that runs from Mankato to Faribault. I went on a Friday morning, with my road bike, and the trail had plenty of room for all abilities of cyclists, walkers, and runners. Many of the communities along the path have rest stops as well as restaurants, shops, etc. You could easily make a day or multi-day trip out of this. Trail is well maintained.See more..

5.0Cykel Bike Shop(3 reviews) - Convenient and fun rental Biking Trails
You can rent mountain bikes here and ride them straight to the Cuyuna trails from the shop. Be aware that many shops have strange hours here and email / web seems like the way to go. First time ever mountain biking, 25 year old loved it, 53 year old mom loved the scenery but it was a little intense even on the green trails. That said I saw a lot of kids out there with parents and I am risk averse lol. We went for 4 hours and I just peeled off and went on the paved trail and dirt access roads more while my son rode the greens, the trails intersected often. I’d recommend considering a weekday for beginners, it was not crowded. Great time!See more..

5.0Roseau Bike Trail(1 review) - Great trail for families Biking Trails
This trail winds through Roseau and loops out on the diversion. It is a fun place to go and something interesting to do. Check out Mt. Roseau!See more..
Overview This trail is just over six miles and includes hundreds of flowing turns on groomed singletrack (mowed, sprayed, and leveled on a regular basis by the local club). This is based next to a man-made "mountain" which is ~60 feet tall, and the trail goes up it several times yielding ~250' of elevation per lap. Need to Know Don't ride if wet, otherwise you'll be "tarred and feathered" by Mother Nature. Description There is the option to cut the mileage significantly and avoid the hill climb by following the Easy Rider shortcut, which is posted on signs. Basically, it includes three right-hand shortcuts (Easy Rider Bypass). Be sure to check out the leaderboard for the full lap on Strava with fast laps considered to be under 30 minutes. The most technical features are the switchback climbs and the downhill jump constructed of a recycled wooden front porch from the locals. HistorySee more..
