    I have attended a few very interesting presentations, great concerts, and wonderful exhibits. Beautiful buildings built in the late 1800s. Lots of light and plenty of room. They have a nice little gift shop. Lots of goods by local artists, plenty of books, Finnish and Scandanavian candies, and lots more.     This is exactly the kind of place that makes Tripadvisor so valuable...a not well known local treasure. This free museum on a main highway going into Aikin formerly was Aikin's "Carnegie Library." It has been beautifully and lovingly restored. The central story it tells is of a hugely talented youngster, Francis Lee Jaques & the Jaques Art Center Francis Lee Jaques was hired by the Museum of Natural History in NYC that sent him all over the world because of his enormous talent. Some of his most beautiful nature works are on display - they're stunning. Two books he wrote with his wife also are available for purchase along with other locally produced art. There are periodic shows featuring nearby artists and local stories. We were nearby at Ruttgers BayLake Lodge and checked Tripadvisor, which mentioned this.     This small building is down by the staples mill. The building is packed with numerous local artists that work in my different mediums and styles. This is a must see place for visitors to get a feel for local traditions. This shop had the friendliest folks running it, out of all the shops we visited in Stillwater!
