   My husband and I had never ridden before and wanted to give it a try while on vacation. We called and reserved for 8 am on a Saturday; unfortunately, they did not have us on the books when we arrived so the horses weren't ready to go. However, Linda jumped into action immediately and did her best to give us a good experience. She picked two horses, Diamond and George, for our ride and personally guided us through the trails. The horses were perfect for us and we had a good time.    We stopped off to see the Bickel Mound on a trip to Bradenton. It is a few miles off of hwy 19. There is a short walk through the site and then steps up to the top of the mound. It is covered in vegetation and hard to really discern the size or get a good view. There is an excellent exhibit board at the bottom explaining about the early inhabitants of the area. The mound is impressive once you know the history, but is not much to see otherwise. I think another exhibit showing a cross section of the mound and explanation of how the archaeologists interpreted the shells etc would be worthwhile. You can get a much better appreciation of an Indian mound at Emerson Point Preserve. See more..

   True—this place provides cheap entertainment in the form of an Arcade, Batting Cages, Birthday Room, and Mini Golf… but they’ll have to change SOMETHING (or more than that) to stay afloat. Advertised heavily on their website and Groupon was Dance Dance Revolution in the Arcade (definitely didn’t see that there). At least the Arcade and Batting Cages were good enough. You probably won’t spend longer than an hour there altogether. The teens running the place were mostly on their phones in the corner or doing their best “why am I here?” eye rolls while serving guests. At least they could’ve told us how 3 of the 18 holes of the Mini Golf were totally submerged in water (but it was only sprinkling rain!) or how other courses were scattered with seeds (although they made difficult obstacles in playing). True they can’t control the weather but good service could’ve warned us. The Mini Golf was very simple—no figurines, bridges, waterfalls, etc. See more..

   Went here on a date night with my wife. We saw Annabelle Comes Home. I purchased tickets online but when we arrived all the prepaid ticket machines were down. We were still able to check in a reasonable time frame. We ate dinner before so we only got a soda. The soda fountain area was disgusting. Trash overflowing, soda spilt everywhere and trash all over the floor. Restrooms were ok but they were out of paper towels and the restroom smelled awful. The theater was clean but it was actually rather warm in the theater. I actually was sweating a little by the time the movie ended. I was disappointed as to the condition of this facility. My best friends children, who are black, were there Friday, WITH MONEY to play and they were standing together discussing how many games to play when a lady walked up to them and told them to get out! They were loitering and she would call the cops!!! My friend's daughter went there to meet some friends to play a week or so before that and she was alone waiting for them and she was told to leave immediately or be thrown out by the cops. WTF LADY!?!?! They people are racist and kicking black kids out of the place and not letting them play. It's not just my best friend's kids either, it's pretty much all non-white teens. They're not be rowdy or loud or causing a disturbance. They were just there to play for a little bit. There's not anything for teens to do in Live Oak and now non-white teens can't bowl anymore.     Come here for the Night Screening advanced screening and for whatever reason, everyone waiting for the showing had to wait outside even tho there was plenty of space in the theater for us to wait. I can't complain too much because it was free and the theater was hosting this opportunity but this is Miami and it gets hot! Even in the evening.     My family has been to this location in Pinellas Park several times. It is definitely old school in that it is a wood floor, and there is carpet all over just outside the rink. The shoe rental is ok, but sometimes they seem a bit slimey to me. You are welcome to bring your own skates, so if you have them, I would. The snack bar area has tables that should be fixed or replaced and the bathrooms could generally use some attention. The best thing about this roller rink is the Saturday morning skating lessons for kids. The women who teach these sessions really pass on their love of learning. The worst thing about this roller rink is that it is not patroled very well - my child has been knocked down without any really acknowledgement by the speedy skater. It has great service with attentive staff, fantastic well mixed drinks, yummy fresh food, nice level pool tables, clean restrooms, several dart boards and plenty of TV's (which is fantastic for those of us who are football fans). As luck would have it we were there on a Wednesday and that is the night they a DJ ( Dee J Jeff ) that comes in around 9PM and provides karaoke and music for the patrons! He was fun, friendly and great at what he does. BONUS! The customers were just as wonderful and engaging as the staff - I made a handful of new friends while I was there ^_^ We are visiting from out of town but we will definitely be back to this location for another night out when we return to the area.     We were very excited to swim with manatees, but the customer service we received when scheduling already made us nervous about our trip. There was no signage with"Reel River Tours" on it. We arrived and were told they only have 4 wetsuits to rent, so we had to swim without them when it was only 54 degrees out! Our captain was very unprofessional. She spent most of the tour on her phone or talking about the little money she makes. Swimming with the manatees was an awesome experience! I would just suggest going with another company for it.     The road coming in is rough. Dirt, potholes, uneven and beware standing water it hides some deep holes. Once in park you can see where it is maintained. Small playground for little kids. Trails are not marked great but can't get lost. The Ryals Branch trail is down. Can see where a bridge is gone and for long time. To bad looked cool if they would bring back. The bridge trail is highlight where there is observation area of the old great tree. The other path is excellent taking you through the swamp. It dead ends on a work road so follow to road turn and go back. One bathroom at entrance. A hike on every trail with some recovering is 3 to 3.25 miles roughly. Worth visit but road is something.     Sarasta County have been very busy redoing this park. They have put in a new dog park which looks beautiful although it's not open yet. The rest of the park has been tidied up and is lighter (used to be dark and dirty) now cleaned up. Nice walks and pathways not too long cannot get lost. Walk there regularly, on a Wednesday some school children with their teachers enjoy the playground then have their lunch. The picnic tables have been removed hopefully they are being cleaned and returned for use (possibly removed so the homeless cannot sleep there). I love to walk in this park as I do Oscar Schere. She asked me what I wanted, so I asked if she had any non alcoholic beer, like a Heineken 0.0. She did not, but offered me a regular Heineken instead. I declined and asked instead for a Coke, but the bartender offered me a Diet Coke instead.     Went into this bar for a period of time but just quit going due to treatment of their employees. The manager and owner are not motivated to make any improvements in this run down establishment. You can wee electrical wiring , the restrooms are filthy, the bar stools are old and worn, interior is dark, smoking is allowed inside, and I watched a bartender get down on her knees to turn on the water. I am not sure about drinks but if you visit on a weekend your beer price will go from $1.75 to $2.50 over the course of two hours. They do have some TV's and the bartenders will be happy to put on the game for you. And for the most part, the bartenders are fun and efficient. But plastic glasses only after eight o'clock. But don't get attached to a bartender because they generally only last a few months due to some infraction imagined by the manager. Weekend entertainment consists of horrible karaoke which adds another 25 cents to the price of drinks. I would not any food they serve which consist mostly of microwave pizza and some chips. The owner is there often but over the course of a little over a year I never saw him interact with any of his customers that he does not know. I never spoke with him.
