We travel in a large RV and had a cruise reservation for 9:00 AM on a Saturday. On Friday we received an email from River Safaris that there was going to be a very large artisan fair on Saturday and the roads will be jammed with both car and foot traffic and navigating the narrow roads with our RV may be vert difficult. We informed them that we were running ahead of schedule so they made arrangements for us to have a private cruise on Friday afternoon allowing us to be out of the area prior to the start of the fair. Our guide "Irish Dave" was fantastic. He carefully brought us into the middle of 20+/- dolphins swimming and jumping all around the boat. We rented two jet skis. Equipment was in great condition. We hadn't been on jet skis in a while, and staff was super nice and very helpful explaining the area and jet ski basics. The gulf was rough, so a staff member guided us to a protected lake. We had the area to ourselves, allowing us to test our skills, and they even stayed to take some photos while we rode and to guide us back. All in all a great time.See more..

I rented a pair of jet skis for myself, my wife and a couple of neighbors that joined us for the day. Dale was great getting through the paperwork quickly, going over the safety rules, and then making sure we were familiar with the area on the map. He gave us some good ideas for how we spent our time and plotted our course. The jet skis rode very well and were pretty fast. We all had a blast! I will say that the jet skis are a little more fun riding solo, but they also aren't cheap. Be sure you plan for enough time for everyone to get some solo time if you have multiple riders. We had an amazing sunset tour with Marshall and a comfortable overnight RV stay at his place in the middle of March! The tour exceed all of our expectations and everyone in our party (2 folks in their 70s and three in their 40s and 50s) are telling everyone we meet that it's a must-do adventure when you're in south Florida. Marshall is a walking encyclopedia on all things Everglades: his explanations about the flora, fauna, geography, topology, culture, and history of the place was fascinating and added much to our experience. Of course, the airboat ride was extraordinarially thrilling and unique, and we saw tons of wildlife, including lots of adult and juvenile alligators! We highly recommend the sunset tour, as it gives you a glimpse into life in the daytime, twilight, and nighttime. We got more than we paid for, and will definitely come back for more! We took two separate tours on different days. The airboat tour was with Capt Gavin and he showed us a great time for an hour and a half. The airboat was fun and fast and the scenery is beautiful. The best tour by far though was the semi private manatee swim with Capt Mike and tour guide Paige. We booked a 7am tour which seemed VERY early since we drove up from Tampa but it’s the best bet to see the manatees. After a brief safety video everyone got into wetsuits and headed to the boat. By 8am we were in the water and swimming with manatees. This tour was 4 hours and was worth every penny. We had snacks and drinks provided and a restroom on board if needed. This was a great tour for the whole family, even though I do think older kids/teens would probably enjoy it more than young children. Highly recommend!!See more..

The service manager, Levi, was very attentive, gave me an estimate as to when the boat would be ready and then was sure to complete it when promised. We chose the 'backcountry' tour vs. the Florida Bay tour from flamingoeverglades.com. out of the Flamingo Marina on a pontoon boat. We are so glad we did. 1.5 hrs of cruising up the Buttonwood Canal as far as the Whitewater Bay. Our Captain Mark and our naturalist Carl worked so well together. Each had so much knowledge to share. We lost track of the number of crocodiles we saw - at least 8. Mark would reverse the boat so everyone had a good look. Carl was so passionate about the birds, trees, and plants and just generally the health and security of the entire Everglades. Only 18 of us on the boat affording tons of opportunity for sun or shade and to view out both sides of the boat. Lots of time to ask questions - we learned so much. On a recent trip to Miami I had an unexpected meeting cancellation, so I decided to go fishing to kill a day and I contacted Capt. Denis, boy was that a good decision. The weather was not the best to head out into the ocean, so we decided to stay inshore and try a few spots while we did some sightseeing. He was very knowledgeable and all around a nice person to have a conversation with while fishing. I mention this because a few years back I hired a guide out of Key Biscayne and it was like been with a drill sergeant, he got upset if the cast was not perfect etc, and that made the whole experience awful, to the point that we decided to cut the fishing trip short. Capt. Denis' boat was well prepared with the proper gear and he was always ready to help and or teach the different techniques. As a group of 16 it is hard to find an activity we can all participate in at the same time, well Facebook made a suggestion & we booked it. I reserved the 2 hour tour to Jewfish Key. We started our trip with Mimosa's and snacks so we of course chose to hire captains to take us to our destination. The boats don't go as fast as regular motor boats but we didn't mind. We were like celebrities as all the large yachts beeped, waved and took pictures. WE also saw a few dolphins along the way! Once we were at the sandbar, it was like being part of a private club. What a beautiful spot to wade in the warm water & enjoy each others company. It was a beautiful day & a GREAT time was had by all! Delays due to pandemic are understandable but have become a convenient excuse! I arrived at the meeting location behind Yucaton restaurant. I think that can be confusing for some customers because they are not a part of the restaurant but that's the nature of the industry for waterfront meeting. Obviously meeting places may vary. Because this is a boat ride with limited electronic connections you need to bring a cash payment of $35. per person.The nicest husband & wife business in hospitality. They've been in the business of hospitality many years and their genuine desire to entertain people and help bring joy to their guest experience is their goal. The weather and evening daylight was against us but it was very enjoyable to roam around the island on water. Keep in mind you share the boat with other guests. They do have private fishing tours and other services if you call them. If you love nature you get to see wildlife at its finest. You usually get to see dolphin but not the evening I was there. Nature is unpredictable.I did see a beautiful osprey in its habitat which is very cool. Just connecting with someone can tell you how you like their business and their service.
