I have fear of heights and I am in my 50’s. I was not eager to try zip lining but YOLO. Well, we even came past the cut off time yet they accommodated us and did not feel any pressure on time. I am so thankful to have Chase and Hannah as our guide…they are a perfect team. Hannah’s soothing voice calmed down my nerves and Chase’ reassuring feedback boost my confidence. They are very knowledgeable, professional, and soooo easy to get along with….felt like I was in a group of my long friends. I was shaking and screaming on my first zip line…but was enjoying the activities on my second one…and was having a blast on the third one. There were 5 zip lines and other activities/challenges included. You just need to trust your guide and listen. Now, I am eager to do this again on my next visit. I highly recommend this place. Every staff is pleasant, professional and friendly. I had a great time. Thank you, Empower Adventures. To the admin in Tampa, you have a great crew!!! See more..

The people who work at TreeHoppers Arial Adventure Park (THAAP) know how to instruct, encourage, and assist when needed, when you think a “staff” member isn’t around, (they are always looking up) you will hear a helpful/caring voice offer assistance to those struggling or needing encouragement. Sending a “shout out” to all the staff members at THAAP, thank you for making the experience educational, fun and safe. In reference to the courses, if you have done a few ropes courses, the courses leading up to the blue level courses are at par, challenge wise, with other ropes courses, although offer some very different “elements”. In reference to the black level course “elements”, some of the most challenging “elements” experienced. THAAP, offers black level courses as well as a “double black” course. In reference to the number of people on the course(s), the lower level courses yellow, green, were a bit crowded, the blue, felt way less crowded, the black and double black, we had elements to ourselves. Crowds a bit lighter or as expected in 2021. The equipment, the harness fits as expected. The gloves do not cover the whole finger, on the advanced courses, we recommend fully covered fingers. In reference to “carabiner”, If you are familiar with using a carabiner with a rivet pin, allowing you to unhook and hook yourself up to the cable, this is not the carabiner option offered. The type of “carabiner” offered does not have a rivet pin, or gate opening, the best way to describe it, “one loop of metal with a very small opening just big enough to slide onto a metal plate, once on the metal plate, you have entered a “course”, not element”. Once you are attached to a course, you do not detach, until you complete the last “element” of that course. This means that you have to wiggle and wind your way around the posts, trees and wire, lots of time spent working with the type of “carabiner” option, for those with experience, changing the dynamic a bit. My entire experience with this was positive. I called to set up a time for our group to attend and, without asking, received a discount because I was doing this for a GS troop. All forms were emailed to me in advance so we could be ready to go when we got there. I received a phone call the morning of to discuss if we should go as rain had been predicted that day. The guys set us up and got us on the course. They were extremely patient and helpful as some of my girls panicked and froze on certain sections of the course. They carried water for us to keep hydrated. This is a good beginner course - the zip lines are relatively short and not too high up. There is some bridge climbing - so be prepared for that. My main recommendation would be to keep the groups small as everyone must complete 1 section before they move on to the next section. See more..
