    Tarpon Springs Cultural Center image
The Cultural Center is a beautiful historic building (previously the City Hall). In addition to art exhibits, this is a venue for multiple theatrical productions put on by the Tarpon Arts. The Cultural Center was built in 1915 as the first City Hall. Renowned architect Ernest Ivey Cook designed the building in the neoclassical style. In 1987 the city government decided to move its offices to the former Tarpon Springs High School building, and plans were made to convert City Hall into a cultural center. The City of Tarpon Springs successfully renovated this important historic site, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. See more..

  6. 5.0 Cedar Key Community Center (1 review)
    - Cedar Key Community Center attracs MAJOR LEAGUE art stars!

    Cedar Key Community Center image
The month I visited the Cedar Key Florida Community Center there was an exhibition of Clyde Butcher's photography, Clyde Butcher's being the Ansel Adams of Florida. Spectacular work! Downstairs is a gift shop where the work of local artists and artisants are sold. This is truly an out-of-the-ordinary small, but extrodinary place. And since many travelers seem to wonder if sites are dog-friendly, my guess is no. However if your dog is a true conniseure of fine arts work, can tell a Braque from a Picasso and you can restrain the animal from peeing on the walls, maybe your pet would be allowed and enjoy a visit to the upstairs gallery. Human children under the age of 18 (if I remember that restriction correctly)) must accompanied by an adult. The stairway might be difficult for someone needing a wheelchair. There might be an elevator, but I don't know. If you can't visit the Community Center in time to see the Clyde Butcher exhibit, his studio is in Venice, Florida. Best wishes. See more..
