I booked 3 tour with Prestige, two of which are private tours where I was the only one that made the reservation. My tour guide was very polite, easy-going and patient, also a great driver. The price may be higher than some other tours but the experience was worth the payment because in big tour groups I as a solo traveler always felt lonely and the order of activities (i.e. choosing between visiting first or having lunch first) in private tours can be quite flexible. Also I only recommend visiting lavender farm before early February because if you arrive on 11th of Feb there is almost nothing to see. See more..

41 South Salmon and Ginseng Farm and Cafe image
Late afternoon visit to the farm and a great choice with a glass of nice wine and a salmon platter. After this we walked around the wet land and feed the fish in the farm. Recommend highly as a breath of fresh air from other tourist attractions with honest and playful banter from the owner and friendly service by girl behind counter. Nice to relax and pay at the end a bit of a rarity in Australia :) See more..
  3. 5.0 Woolnorth Tours (204 reviews)
    - MUST DO

Where do I start….. Laura has been doing the tours for a long time and it clearly shows from geology, meteorology, anthropology there seems to be nothing she doesn’t know about the area. Laura doesn’t work off a script she tailors her narrative around questions asked and things that occur on the way. Every person who I spoke to who have done the tour couldn’t recommend highly enough – and neither can I. A must do! See more..

Play A Round in Tassie Day Tours image
Robyn was so warm and friendly from the time I first emailed her until we hugged and said goodbye at the end of the tour. It was like spending the day with your favorite family member. She picked us up with a sign welcoming us, outlined our day, listened to us and made adjustments to meet our needs, and off we went. We were intent on finding a platypus in the wild, and Robyn, the platypus whisperer, did not disappoint. She even brought along a variety of Australian specific snacks, some homemade, for us to sample. Robyn's homemade Vegemite/cheese rolls made Vegemite believers of all of us on the tour. We got to participate in such a nice variety of activities, the day flew by. Four of us were on the tour, and our day with Robyn in Burnie was a highlight for all of us. Highly Recommended See more..

Great sailing experience on a beautifully restored Danish fishing boat. Good for kids, families, couples, singles - young and old. The kids helped hoist the sails plus us adults also got a chance as well. Lovely hosts who own the boat, restored her, sail from Denmark to Australia, make a very nice cup of tea and explain the boat, the restoration, their sailing experiences, the local geography and history. Very economical price for a wonderful experience. Can do a short couple of hours sail, hire her for a day with food provided, overnight or a couple of days with crew and food. See more..

Visited Burnie for a port stop from our cruise and booked online. Cherie met us at Makers Market with the warmest smile, she drove our small group around to see Burnie natural scenery of opium and poppy fields. Along the way stopped at Bluehills honey farm to taste different types of honey. Cherie provide us with homemade treats to keep us going throughout the day. Went to the Nut for lunch she rang ahead so our orders were ready she took those that were willing on the cable chair to enjoy lunch at the top. We were able to walk around Stanley historical town and visit boat harbour beach. Cherie was so knowledgeable and had so much passion for Burnie. Anyone visiting Burnie I would highly recommend Australian wild harvest tour with Cherie. See more..

Our tour guide Rob was thoroughly knowledgeable about the area, including geology, indigenous and local history (meaning after the area was “discovered “ by Europeans). Robb thoroughly answered all my questions, added more information, and took us to all the unknown spots that we’d never have known about. He was an excellent driver, meaning we could concentrate on the views and not the stress of driving on curvy roads. He provided a delicious tea and lunch—with a view at the Edge of the World. This trip is well worth while and I’m very happy to have experienced it, See more..
  9. 4.5 Curringa Farm (28 reviews)
    - Its more than a tour or a B&B

    Curringa Farm image
We took an excursion off of Holland America in Hobart. They brought us to Curringa Farm. It is a sheep farm - 700 head. They have herding sheep dogs (very cool). They have 8 B&B rooms for rent. They do speciality farming - pure seed growing. They produce wool for coats and carpets. They are reclaiming the land like it was 100's of years ago. And they served us a great steak lunch. We went on the recommendation of a friend and really enjoyed both the tour and lunch. The relaxed casual chat about cows and farm life was fun and interesting. Lunch was amazing, the brisket was so good. This was a great introduction to the island for our friends who hadn’t been here before. See more..

Dick took 4 of us, including my delightful aunties(90+yr) for a fabulous 4x4 tour today, he showed us all around the sights of the Bay of Fires, Binalong Bay, including secret beauty spots, also a local winery and to the oyster lease, so we sourced absolutely fresh oysters for dinner. He was knowledgeable about the local history & had interesting stories to entertain us on the way. Many photo opportunities, well worth the trip, aunties enjoyed Dick’s tour, and were chatting about their enjoyable day over dinner. See more..

    - Relaxing and fun way to spend a day and learn about local Aboriginal culture

Had a fantastic relaxed and informative day with Greg from Kooparoona Niara Tours. Greg offers relaxed and friendly door to door service, with a real focus on meeting his customers needs. We spent time at the Kooparoona Niara Cultural Train in Deloraine, the Marakoopa Caves and had lovely lunch at Earth Water Cafe. All of these places were worth the trip alone. If you go to the Earth Water Cafe, we recommend sitting on the deck and watching the chickens and animals wander around the fields. Thanks for the great day Greg! See more..
