  3. 4.5 Saint John Craft Beer Bar (161 reviews)
    - Feel like you could be in Portland
Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Bars & Clubs • Breweries

A little out of the CBD but only a 5 minute walk and worth it. It looks and feels like a Portland Bar. It looks small from the front but has a very large space out the back. Amazing (verging on ridiculous choice of beers with 10 or so on tap and goodness knows how many in cans and bottles. They do take away too. There is occasional live music and a range of burgers and fries. An “Halloumify” option is great for vegetarians-the best halloumi burger I’ve had in ages (by substituting Halloumi for beef). Went two nights-service much better the first night but always quick and friendly and good prices See more..
  4. 4.5 Pagan Cider (64 reviews)
    - Lovely Cider range

Delightful young bearded chap educated and guided a tasting. Lot of science, chemistry and art in each fruity creation. All generally made with apple base but need to change mix based on season, weather and taste profile. Walked away holding a large bottle of quince cider as had a very interesting astringent flavour. Stopped in after getting wind of this place on our way to Launceston and glad we did. Very welcoming and knowledgeable about their craft. Sat out on the patio under an umbrella and sampled a tasting paddle. Some very unique and tasty beers. Shame the hop vines were regenerating but it was the wrong time of year for them. Pick up some take home and continued on our way. Definitely worth a stop for any craft beer lover. See more..

We sampled a variety of beer and cider with the raspberry sour being a highlight. The tasting paddle has their standard five beers in 200ml glasses for $15. Alternatively you can add a take home six pack for only an extra $15 (normally $22) when you have the paddle. There is no kitchen on site so it is BYO food. See more..

This is an enterprise of passion and commitment to excellence, don't arrive expecting ice cold schooners of VB or similar. These are sour beers and various ciders that are totally unique and of extraordinary quality. My third visit and was the top of my wish list for my 60th birthday, didn't disappoint as usual. A great location on the farm, we watched as some hops were hand picked, visited the pigs and just relaxed over a few beers. See more..
  8. 4.0 Buttons Brewing (15 reviews)
    - Great family fun @ weekly Trivia Night

What a wonderful little set up! Most of our fairly large crew went for the Taco Tuesday offerings and raved about the delicious pulled pork, the magnificent lamb nachos and everything else they ordered. For $10, the curried cauliflower was also great value - a massive bowl of tasty, crispy, healthy deliciousness. The trivia night was lots of fun too.. very smoothly conducted with teams of ppl from 3 to 10 about the place, as well as a few punters not involved, but just enjoying a quiet one at the bar. Food was served until 7 when the game started; the night went until about 9. Great that the kids could run around on the large deck outside when they needed some space and fresh air. Exceptionally friendly and professional service from the young team running the bar on the night. Shout out to Archer in particular; welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable and professional.. what a star! See more..
