-Awesome family adventure!
Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Rail Tours
This is a “MUST DO” for anyone visiting Tassy! The staff are very well organised and do their best to get the tour underway on time. The staff are very knowledgeable and approachable which also greatly increased our enjoyment. We had Lana, on her fourth day, and she was amazing! We took our seven month old with us and the staff we very accommodating of her and the train ride did not seem to upset her at all. Once the tour got underway, Kiah (excuse me if the spelling is incorrect), told us stories about the railway which were really interesting and whimsical. It would be great if on the back of the menu some of the stories or further reading was available. The stops are nice for a quick walk; however, don’t expect to go for a hike. Along the way there are a lot of great photo opportunities! Bridges and rivers and even just down the track through cuttings. All and all, a great day out! Great work team! See more..

-Fantastic adventure on historic railway
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Rail Tours
A very picturesque train trip through the rainforest on the historic railway. The railway was built to transport copper from the Queenstown mine to Strahan harbour. We left Strahan and stopped off at Lower Landing and then on to Dubbil Barril for a walk in the rainforest before turning round back to Strahan. Bec the conductor and commentator was excellent passing on her vast knowledge of the building of the railway and lots of colourful stories of the characters that built the railway and those that lived in this remote wilderness. Highly recommended. See more..

-A pushbike experience on a railway track

Our guide Trevor is a wealth of information about the early history of the railway and Maydena village. A great storyteller. We did the Florentine section, the shorter of the two options. You can do as much or as little pedalling as you wish, as the modified quad bike will give you a gentle nudge up the inclines. A great experience for a different way of going through the forest.
