We enjoyed walking through the Bay of Fires area. The scenery is stunning from white sandy beaches, granite boulders and aquamarine water. The changes are subtle under different light. The best part about the area is its tranquility and being away from crowds. Plenty to see and explore. See more..
4.5Friendly Beaches(165 reviews) - Gorgeous White Sandy Beach Spent More than 3 hours Beaches • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Beautiful white sandy beach located in Freycinet national park. You need to go down a dirt road for a few kilometres to a lookout which will provide a view similar to the displayed cover photo. Continue down the road to the carpark if you wish to walk along the beach, which can take hours due to its very long length. Beware that because of its located in Freycinet National Park you will need to display a active Tasmanian parks pass on your vehicle or otherwise risk a 75 dollar fine.See more..
4.5Fortescue Bay(151 reviews) - Lovely area Bodies of Water • Beaches
We did the walk to Canoe Bay and back… decent undulating track, took us about 45 mins return. Lots of people about for a Monday (during school holidays) and the camping area looked pretty full. We paid for the daily park pass and then couldn’t find a park and had to pull over to the side of the dirt road with a bunch of other cars haphazardly parked. Not much that can be done about this I suppose, and it would be a shame to knock down more trees for more parking, but just something to keep in mind. Don’t forget your sunscreen, even if you’re just going out for an hour or two. See more..
Wow. First did this walk nearly 30 years ago and last time before yesterday was probably 5 years ago. The effort which has gone into defining and refining the track is simply exemplary. In 1990 in my 20’s with small child in back pack we rock hopped and scrambled down to Wineglass Bay. Sort of had to bush bash a bit. Now it’s a well defined, stepped out pathway with so many beautiful moments. The little natural amphitheatre at the top of the saddle before the short walk up to the lookout is just beautiful. Ironically, the walk is now hard and manageable...I’m nearly 60, unfit, over sized and have more sporting injuries than a physiotherapy text book...it was a slow and steady experience which hurt every step but was well worth the pain. I know it’s all about the view but if you actually take it slow then the journey itself is gold See more..
4.5Boat Harbour Beach(137 reviews) - Divine Spent More than 3 hours Piers & Boardwalks • Beaches • Scenic Drives
One of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and yes I've been to my share in the Caribbean. The only issue is the water is cold, but it's such a beautiful spot, with a Licensed Cafe offering good food, so what could be betters on a sunny day. Child friendly, Life Savers are on Patrol during the season and on weekends. Check the tide times before coming as at high tide the water extends all the way up the beach to the beach shacks.See more..

4.5Ocean Beach(89 reviews) - 40km - longest beach in Tas Beaches
Just 6km outside Strahan is Tasmania’s longest beach at 40 km long and well worth a visit just to marvel at the length and wild beauty of the beach. It faces the Southern Ocean and there is no landmass between the beach and South America. It has extreme weather conditions with a powerful surf and huge tides which pound the shoreline – we saw large sections of the cliff freshly fallen after heavy seas. But watch where you walk – a big black snake popped its head out while we walked down to the beach along the path. Where there is so much beauty, there are also bities. Whale stranding also occurs along the beach but due to its remoteness it is often difficult for humans to save the whales. Well worth a visit if you are in Strahan.See more..
4.5Bay of Fires(74 reviews) - Amazing scenery to explore at leisure Beaches
Bay of Fires is a large bay that is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace by car. Many of the beautiful rock platforms involve leaving the main road and using gravel roads before walking through bush or along beaches. The effort is well worth it as the red/yellow lichen covered rocks are beautiful especially where the sea is sparkling and the sand white. It is worth sitting and gazing as the varying light shows different vistas. Not a lot of infrastructure so it’s a good idea to carry and snacks or a picnic lunchSee more..
4.5Honeymoon Bay(71 reviews) - Scenic and tranquil Beaches
A beautiful little spot with soaring mountains above and colorful rocks and quiet waters. As we were staying at the lodge we were able to pop over to it a few times in different weather and lighting. It’s within the Freycinet National Park so you need tO purchase a park pass. If you are just day trippin there’s a small parking lot. You’re not going to spend a lot of time30-45 min for some great photos should do it. Add it to your list when visiting the park.See more..
4.0Coles Beach(56 reviews) - A Crescent of sand Beaches
Stopped for a while to enjoy the views and decided to head down to the beach for a short stroll. Nice sandy beach area, a little seaweed at the high water mark but only four other like minded enjoying a stroll. No doubt much more attractive in summer season.See more..
This one-day walk takes in part of the famous South Coast Track, beginning at the small town of Cockle Creek. Visitors observe native plants and birds as they cross coastal heathland, enjoy ocean views and gaze out over the expanse of the Southern Ocean imagining the distance between themselves and the nearest landmass of Antarctica.See more..
4.5Hazards Beach(30 reviews) - Stunning Beach - but how to get there? Beaches • Scenic Walking Areas
Hazards is a stunning white sand beach – more beautiful up close than Wineglass bay. And because it’s on the inside of the bay, a safe swimming spot. That’s why the tour groups and water taxis come here to drop people off for the short walk across the isthmus to Wineglass Bay. The boat tour or water taxi is easily the best way to do this. If you want to walk here the direct route is about 2 hours of very dull, hard walking through tea tree and rocks direct from the carparks. The other way is the 4 hour circuit up to the lookout, then down the 1000 stairs to Wineglass Bay and across the isthmus. There are no toilets or water here, so stock up. The only toilets are at Wineglass Bay and the car park. But there’s a wide, white sand beach which boats can easily approach, and plenty of safe swimming. There’s decent shade at the end closest to Coles Bay and this is where most people seem to stop for the day.See more..

4.5Okines Beach(5 reviews) - A Beautiful beach in southern Tasmania Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
This is my favourite beach in Tasmania. It is a peaceful area suitable for families with young children. At low tide there are magical rock pools with small fish and crabs. The rock formation from the elements are like waves. To sit and look at the islands and mountains is just wonderful and I have been there many times. Sunsets from this beach are stunning.See more..
4.5East Beach(5 reviews) - Quick dip with family this afternoon Beaches
40 minutes drive from Launceston - just outside George Town, at the mouth of the East Tamar is East Beach. Long, sandy beach with view toward Low Head lighthouse. Gentle, small surf whenever I've visited (making it family friendly). Often quite windy - perhaps not surprising as it's Bass Strait. Perfect for a quick dip today.See more..
5.0Palana Beach(5 reviews) - Wonderful Remote Piece of Paradise Beaches
We were on a tour and went up to Palana Beach at the very North of Flinders Island. It has few permanent residents and has mainly holiday cottages. The area has remnants of WWII installations but the war had ended before they were ever used. There is a beautiful beach as well as a very pretty launching ramp. When we visited the Naked Lady flowers were in full bloom which looked fabulous. Worth a visit if you have the opportunity.See more..
4.0Martha Lavinia Beach(5 reviews) - Beautiful stretch of sandy beach and coastline. More surf orientated than swimming. Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
Martha Lavinia beach is an isolated spot on the east coast of King Island that was named after the schooner Martha Lavinia that struck a reef in 1871. It is located approximately 12 klms down a fairly good gravel road (a good number of the roads on King Island are gravel) from the turnoff at Egg Lagoon on the main Currie - Wickham road. You pass the turnoff to Penny’s Lagoon along the way. This is a beautiful spot and not as rugged or as wild looking as the west coast. Nevertheless I would not go swimming here as there appeared to be some very strong currents. It is though a popular surfing spot. There were no facilities here.See more..

Sisters Beach is really remote... even for Tasmania. I sort of followed the coast after Wynyard heading towards Stanley to find it. It's a beautiful little town on the edge of the water. When you get to the beach there is a creek that runs into it. There is a small playground, a toilet, showers, BBQ ... stunning views across the beach. It's almost like a cove... don't jump up and down... I know it's not... you are just given that impression. This is a serene beach to go to... there weren't people there the day I went...but I can't imagine it as ever truly being busy. it's a really lovely beach to visit though. I went for a walk, stared out to the sea and all of this whilst it was raining.See more..

Beauty Point like it's name is an exceptional part of the coast... Not too far from Seahorse World and Platypus House is this lovely foreshore. There is a children's playground there and a fantastic undercover picnic area- this is actually quite large. You could probably have an event in there like a children's birthday party... or well... any birthday party. The views are lovely... and it's right on the edge of the water.See more..
This beach has a parking area, a BBQ area, a train... yes, really... whilst it's next to the freight train tracks, it honestly has a miniature train track as well... it also has toilets... and beach chairs. It's a really beautiful beach... close to amenities and there are rock pools to explore as well. Whilst my eyesight isn't what it used to be... I am rather sure there were seals on a nearby rock as well. Being that it's located in Penguin... chances are they were seals and ... there are probably penguins nearby as well.See more..
