    - The new Dove lake Kayak tour (at Cradle Mountain)

    Cradle Mountain Canyons image
This Review is for the new kayak tour of Dove Lake 19/02/2023 WOW The 2 hour guided kayak tour is just incredible, Hannah was our guide and she was just incredible at showcasing the Cradle area and in particular Dove Lake, her knowledge was in depth and she was just a really nice person. The King Billy Pine 2 person kayak was a work of art and an absolute pleasure to paddle with the rudder system and just glided thru the water with ease,( a credit to Anthony who made them by hand). The backdrop of Cradle mountain is just breathtaking and my wife and I will remember the tour forever. See more..

    - GREAT KAYAKING FUN ON LAKE PEDDER

    Tassie Bound image
My partner grant and I and another couple Konrad and Agnies had such a fun few hours with Tassie Bound. Liam was a very knowledgeable man of the history around lake Pedder and the wildlife, and Liam and his wife made the best brownies YUM! It was a bit but of a dark gloomy day and had some rain but it made the lake more challenging at times which was how I like it. We cannot wait to try the River Derwent Kayak Decent next highly recommend Tassie Bound Adventures See more..
  3. 5.0 Leven River Cruises (354 reviews)
    - Bird Photography Cruise on the Leven
Thursday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Boat Tours • Walking Tours • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Leven River Cruises image
I went on a Bird Photography Cruise with Leven River Cruises and we were fortunate enough to see an adult White Bellied Sea Eagle catch an eel in the river, drug it up on the bank, and then carried it away to a fallen tree, had her fill and then passed it on to one of her juveniles so it could have a feed as well. On the cruise this day we not only saw eagles, but we also saw a Swap Harrier, an Australian Hobby, several White-faced Herons, 3 varieties of Cormorants, two varieties of ducks, wrens, Welcome Swallows, Brown Thornbills, European Goldfinches, Masked Lapwings, etc., etc. Add on top of that the stunning reflections of the surrounding trees in the river and it makes for a sensational day of cruising. If you're planning to be in the Ulverstone area, I highly recommend you book a cruise and experience a wonderful cruise on the Leven River with Kim! See more..
  4. 5.0 Wild Ocean Tasmania (336 reviews)
    - Nature at its most awe inspiring!

    Wild Ocean Tasmania image
Honestly I really don't know how words can do justice yo describing this experience. Without a doubt it is some of the most stunning seascape I have had the pleasure of being amongst. What makes this offering so unique though is Wild Ocean's knowledge and relationship with nature. These folks are able to read the offerings the sea presents and respond to create true adventure and awe. It makes the time a privilege in nature rather than just a tour. Thank goodness we can still find these experiences in a increasing world of formulaic packages. I will go regularly if life allows to fill up my awe, inspiration and hope in this amazing world we live in. I highly recommend to just get amongst it with these folks!!! See more..
  5. 5.0 Low Head Penguin Tours (328 reviews)
    - Fascinating insight into the life of fairy penguins.
    Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Low Head Penguin Tours image
We would consider this a must when visiting Tasmania. The tour was at 9pm, just after sunset. We were lead down to the beach by our very knowledgeable guides, Zane and Charlotte. We waited with eager anticipation for the penguins to arrive out of the sea, while Zane gave a non stop commentary of what was likely to happen and how these amazingly cute creatures venture up the beach to safety. Sure enough, about 20 appeared, going through their daily routine of feeding in the sea and then heading to their nests for the night. It was a very different and special experience for us, coming from The UK and would strongly recommend Low Head Penguin Tours See more..
  6. 5.0 Woolnorth Tours (204 reviews)
    - MUST DO
Thursday: Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Woolnorth Tours image
Where do I start….. Laura has been doing the tours for a long time and it clearly shows from geology, meteorology, anthropology there seems to be nothing she doesn’t know about the area. Laura doesn’t work off a script she tailors her narrative around questions asked and things that occur on the way. Every person who I spoke to who have done the tour couldn’t recommend highly enough – and neither can I. A must do! See more..

    - Engaging, comfortable, worth it!

    Discover Tasmania Tours image
I had an amazing day with John from Discover Tasmania Tours! I booked the Bridestowe Lavender Estate scenic tour that also goes to Lilydale Falls, Grindelwald, and Cataract Gorge. I ended up going on a solo tour with him since there were no other joiners (had to pay a bit extra for my tour to push through.) John was engaging and very knowledgeable, and was able to make adjustments when necessary. He made the long car drive between places interesting by showing me interesting things around us - from the mountains, the animals, and certain towns that we passed through. Overall I was very very happy to be getting so much within one day tour, and I highly recommend DTT to everyone! See more..

I gave this trip to my daughter as a 16th birthday gift, but I enjoyed it just as much as she did! Deb kept us interested and informed the whole time, and the two of us laughed nervously as she showed us which holes to squeeze through and where to put our feet in the gushing water. Deb was extremely knowledgable, relaxed and definitely satisfied our sense of adventure. This was an awesome experience all round! See more..

    - A great two days with Pepperbush Tours in Tasmania with Ben as our Guide!
    Nature & Wildlife Tours
Pepper Bush Adventures - Day Tours image
If I could give ten stars to rate our two days spent with Pepperbush Adventures in Tasmania with Ben as our guide I would definitely do so. Tasmania was beautiful! Ben, along with his dad Craig and his Mom make a great team. Ben knew everything about the animals, the forest, plants, trees, and the history of Tasmania. We ate by the fire in a big field surrounded by 16 kangaroos, that love for you to scratch their neck, with Wallaby’s and other Tasmanian critters all around us. We ate Wallaby burgers which he cooked and they were yummy. The stories he told about their land and the places he took us were just incredible. We also requested hiking through the area which we did lots of. All in all it was a great two days! See more..

Gear was good quality. We couldn't have done the hike without this gear, and we had the best time. Definitely an unforgettable experience. Thanks so much! See more..

Dick took 4 of us, including my delightful aunties(90+yr) for a fabulous 4x4 tour today, he showed us all around the sights of the Bay of Fires, Binalong Bay, including secret beauty spots, also a local winery and to the oyster lease, so we sourced absolutely fresh oysters for dinner. He was knowledgeable about the local history & had interesting stories to entertain us on the way. Many photo opportunities, well worth the trip, aunties enjoyed Dick’s tour, and were chatting about their enjoyable day over dinner. See more..

The whole experience was amazing, we were there for just under 2 hours. We saw approximately 70 penguins coming in from the ocean and watched them as they made their way back to their burrows. We also got to see the penguins up close in their burrows. We felt so lucky to see these little guys in their natural habitat and will not forget it. A big thank you also to our tour guide. 16. 4.5 Huon Valley Horsetrekking (10 reviews)
    - Horse riding in Huon Valley
Nature & Wildlife Tours • Horseback Riding Tours
    Huon Valley Horsetrekking image
We went horse riding at Horse Haven in April and had a wonderful time. The horses are well loved and very well looked after. It was a really personal ride with the owner of the property Conny and Teddy (the dog), even down to taking the horses back to their paddock. There is a self contained cottage available also, which we did not stay in as we had already booked accommodation elsewhere. I cannot say what the accommodation would have been like but based on the company and the overall vibe of the place, I'm pretty sure it would have been a good experience. Thanks Conny, we had such a great time. We will most certainly be back! See more..

    - Finally a platypus ...

    Wildways Tours Maydena image
Coming to the end of our holiday, my wife still hadn't seen a platypus and with the cancellation of another tour, we had some time to spare. With little notice, WildWays (Matt) quickly organised an evening tour that didn't disappoint. Guided by a very passionate Tony, we saw a large number of animals including, yes, the platypus! And to round out the night we also got an incredible picture of an owl just sitting outside a tree top hollow. If ever back in Tasmania, Wildways will be on the top of our list for things to do. The environment over there is super nice! Indeed, the tour guide have explained the creature of platypus well. He is a super friendly and funny tour guide! He really enriched my knowledge about life and habitat of the platypus and where and when have highest possibility to see platypus. He told us the baby platypus called Puggles. And the trip to see platypus was interesting and relaxing . We did see one platypus. How lucky we were. It is so cute!!!It makes my day!!! Moreover, the tour guide also introduced some Tasmanian plants and creature near the creek to us. Thus ,I am highly recommend if you are in Strahan!!!!! Hopefully you can see one too! - Llama Walk - Fun and worth it!

    Access Llamas image
I had a few questions before booking that Natalie answered via message very promptly. Even though I was a solo traveler and there was no one else booked for the day/time that for my itinerary, Natalie scheduled me in. Great customer service. The day of the walk, Phil was my guide. He was friendly, easy going, informative and made my walk a highlight of my trip. We started with a safety talk, a farm orientation, then Phil selected two llamas - Merry and Rivet. And away we went on a short bush walk and then a couple of rounds through an obstacle course. The ground can be uneven and muddy but the walk was too difficult or strenuous and would be suitable for most. The llamas were easy to handle and very responsive. I would highly recommend. See more..

We tagged along one evening as Tim guided some people to the spot in the creek where the platypus played. He was very generous with both his knowledge and time. Tim is an asset to the Geeveston community. We are grateful to him for the experience. I should have bought him a beer! See more..

    - Great service in a stunning area

    Southwest Expeditions image
My brother an I were keen on doing some overnight bushwalking around Macquarie Harbour. We were completely dependent on a reliable drop off and pick up (there's no track in or out of there from Strahan!) and Sean and Sam from SW Expeditions came through in spades. They were a pleasure to deal with, provided excellent service, and know the Harbour like the proverbial 'backs of their hands'. This is an exquisite part of the world and I can't recommend it -- and Southwest Expeditions -- highly enough! See more..
