Mr Flathead (Mark) definitely gave our family an experience to remember…. Trawling for salmon an Taylor my wife landed a nice salmon in the first 1/2 hr and Mark cleaned filleted and cleaned then on to the flathead thanks to Mark’s experience and local knowledge we probably caught in excess of 50 flathead fish add 15 beautiful whiting My 2 daughters 8 and 10 both caught fish …… all gear provided plus We saw sea lions and sea eagles ended taking over 2 kgs of fresh whiting and flathead fillets ….. definitely the most fun charter I’ve been on 11 out of 10 Thanks championSee more..
We booked Michael for a day out in the bay, estuary fishing, as the rivers were too muddy after the heavy rains. He proved to be very knowledgeable, friendly and excellent company . He put us on the fish and in a few hours my wife had to take two breaks to rest her arms after catching too many fish.. We caught over 40 salmon, tailor, trevally, leather jacket , flathead and King George whiting. Michel’s boat is a very stable Bar Crushed, clean and in very good condition. Stopper came highly recommended to us by my dad and he did not disappoint! He found us a beautiful camp site for our first night in Tassie and even came to give a couple of novices a casting crash course the night before our charter. In November of 2019 I had the pleasure of spending the day fly fishing Lake Leak with Guide Garry or formally known as Gazza!! Garry had all the trick when fishing these areas, kept us sheltered from the wind, ensuring comfort and entertainment while keeping a sharp eye out for signs of fish activity. He persisted in fine tuning my technique and fly presentation which all culminated in landing a beauty brown trout. Although they offer a Hobart Service I chose to drive from the Huon valley to Cambell Town to better my chances of action and it was well worth it. The tips didn't just finish at the end of the day, Garry also left me with some fishing area advice to take me while I toured the rest of Taz. I would highly recommend Trout Territory to anyone in the area looking to land a Tasmanian Trout. I hired a boat and just loved it! The boat worked like a charme and was perfectly suited for fishing. The trailer was not in the best conditions to be honest and gave me some headacheas while driving on gravel roads. I guess usually people do not drive around that much as I was using the boat intensively for four days straight and put it on several different lakes. So if you want to use the boat in similar intensiv way, just tell the people and check the trailer with them before you leave. I am sure that want be a problem at all! A very pleasant tour which beautifully showcases the stunning local scenery. My brother an I were keen on doing some overnight bushwalking around Macquarie Harbour. We were completely dependent on a reliable drop off and pick up (there's no track in or out of there from Strahan!) and Sean and Sam from SW Expeditions came through in spades. They were a pleasure to deal with, provided excellent service, and know the Harbour like the proverbial 'backs of their hands'.
