  1. 5.0 Cradle Mountain Huts Walk by Tasmanian Walking Company (224 reviews)
    - Here's why my mate did the walk .....again

Cradle Mountain Huts Walk by Tasmanian Walking Company image
Holy cow! What an absolute joy. Being an ex-Tasmanian, I'd always wanted to do this walk, but heard it was pretty crowded. But that was a lie. Couple of people about, but this walk is through a remarkable range of forest, plains and mountains - stunning vistas at every turn. The guides briefed us well prior to each day's walk, provided a whole range of information on everything from the history to the plant life and cooked us up delicious food every night. I did this walk with a mate when his girlfriend pulled out (don't blame her, my mate is verrrrry dull!). He's done this walk 5 times - not because he's boring and keeps repeating things (he's walked all over the world), but because it's simply one of the most stunning walks in the world. I can see why. Beautiful scenery, excellent quality huts and the Tasmanian Walking Company just make everything so easy so you can enjoy it all. Thanks team. See more..
  2. 5.0 The Maria Island Walk (128 reviews)
    - We loved everything about this experience
    Multi-day Tours
    The Maria Island Walk image
Our 4 days on Maria Island were amazing. We loved every bit of this trip. Our guides, Sharna & Issy, did an absolutely fantastic job of making sure everything was perfect - food (& wine), accommodation, our nature experiences and the overall adventure which consisted of amazing hikes & swims in pristine beaches. The "social history" on Maria Island is incredibly fascinating and broad - Sharna shared stories to help us understand what the island has seen; from the traditional owners, to explorers, convicts, farmers and finally the National Park it is today. The wildlife exceeded our expectations - we were so fortunate to have many wonderful experiences where we could observe our gorgeous animals & birds enjoying this magnificent bush. We will be recommending this trip to anyone who is looking to hike in Tasmania. See more..
  3. 5.0 Bay of Fires Lodge Walk by Tasmanian Walking Company (126 reviews)
    - A perfect four days in nature… with all the trimmings

Bay of Fires Lodge Walk by Tasmanian Walking Company image
An amazing four days. Spectacular landscapes, wildlife and relaxing walking. Tas Walking Co’s systems are amazing and every little detail is catered for. The guides are amazing (yes Sam, better than Gus), the accommodation is brilliant (the beds were more comfy than the five star hotels on either side of the trip), the food is second to none and the wine in front of the fire after a big day’s walking is great. The walk itself is spectacular. Easier than the 3 Capes (which we have also done) but still a sense of achievement. The kayaking is fantastic and an extra thing that adds to the spice of the trip. The weather was amazing, we saw a seal in the first kilometre of walking in front of us on the beach and had a smaller than usual group so we simply couldn’t have had a better time. It seems expensive but when you get on the walk and understand the inclusions and the number of staff that work together to bring you the experience it’s completely worth it. See more..

Mountain Biking Adventures Derby - MADMTB image
I’d rate Mad MTB 6Stars if I could. Dawn and Richard were absolutely amazing hosts. We booked in 3 days of shuttles 13km Descent, Atlas, Black Shadows. We lost a few due to sickness or injury along the way and Dawn was great at offering us more trails to make up for our missing crew. Dawn was easy to communicate with even with limited coverage and also thanks to Andrew and Chris for shuttling us back up to Black Stump to do Flickity Sticks over and over again, we cannot wipe the smiles off our faces. I can highly recommend Mad MTB Shuttles who even had a surprise lamington or 2 waiting after our long rides. Thanks team. See more..
  5. 5.0 Blue Derby Pods Ride (49 reviews)
    - Amazing eco retreat at the mountain biking Mecca of Tasmania.

    Blue Derby Pods Ride image
This trip was one of the best we have ever done. It’s hard to list my favourite part- the guides, the food, the Pods or the mountain biking. Food first-Locally grown and sourced it was better than any of the restaurants we have been to whilst here in Tassie. Coming a close second was the pods and living areas. Totally off grid with no waste and architecturally designed living and sleeping areas, it was like stepping into ‘Grand Designs’. Third for me ( but first for my 13 year old!) was the mountain biking. Our guides Tim and Dani were the best! We were a mixed group of keen mountain bikers and timid novices. They totally catered for both and meant that we all ended the trip with huge smiles on our faces! They also looked after our food and comfort and were great company. Lastly the natural beauty of the area is second to none. Thank you so much for three memorable days-we will be back. See more..

There are a couple of motorcycle hire businesses in Tasmania, but I'd bet none are as brilliant as Phil Ogden's Tasmanian Motorcycle Tours & Rentals. From our initial communication, to when we booked then had to cancel our original Tassie trip due to COVID lockdowns, to when we re-booked and this time made it to the island, every interaction was highly professional, surpassing our expectations. Phil was accessible, informative, patient, and generous. The motorcycles on offer are the best I've ridden, likely the best you'll find anywhere, including the king of adventure bikes: BMW's 1250 GS Rallye - a monster you can hire and ride once you stop drooling. Phil offers motorcycle gear like helmets, jackets, wet weather gear and more. His service is hard to fault... and then there's the island itself. Honestly, hire one of TMTR's bikes, take Phil's advice on potential routes and accommodation, and enjoy some of the best roads on the planet on some of its best bikes. Just do it. See more..

We hired all the gear we needed for a 2 day overnight hike on The 3 Capes Track. Tent, sleeping bags, bed mats, and back packs. Kev was super friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable. Gear was good quality. We couldn't have done the hike without this gear, and we had the best time. Definitely an unforgettable experience. Thanks so much! See more..

Terry and Vince were great. Knowledgeable about tracks and local sights to visit. Worked in well with our group of 17 bikers. Nothing was too much trouble for them to make our mountain biking trip to Derby really great. Thanks guys, hoping to get back some time and will certainly be in touch. See more..

  11. 5.0 Southwest Expeditions (1 review)
    - Great service in a stunning area

    Southwest Expeditions image
My brother an I were keen on doing some overnight bushwalking around Macquarie Harbour. We were completely dependent on a reliable drop off and pick up (there's no track in or out of there from Strahan!) and Sean and Sam from SW Expeditions came through in spades. They were a pleasure to deal with, provided excellent service, and know the Harbour like the proverbial 'backs of their hands'. This is an exquisite part of the world and I can't recommend it -- and Southwest Expeditions -- highly enough! See more..
