A little out of the CBD but only a 5 minute walk and worth it. It looks and feels like a Portland Bar. It looks small from the front but has a very large space out the back. Amazing (verging on ridiculous choice of beers with 10 or so on tap and goodness knows how many in cans and bottles. They do take away too. There is occasional live music and a range of burgers and fries. An “Halloumify” option is great for vegetarians-the best halloumi burger I’ve had in ages (by substituting Halloumi for beef). Went two nights-service much better the first night but always quick and friendly and good prices See more..
  2. 4.5 Get Shucked Oyster Bar (117 reviews)
    - The best oysters going at value price point

    Get Shucked Oyster Bar image
This was a 30 minute highlight of our Bruny Island holiday. My partner is an oyster fiend and she was thoroughly delighted with the oysters we had. She said that they were the best we have had in a year. At 23$ a dozen with 3 accompanying sauces they are excellent value for super delicious and fresh oysters. (20$ a dozen take away) . The oyster bar is about 10 mins from the ferry terminal and is one of the first of the go to places on the island. Only a small area to dine in on wooden outside tables. In brief excellent oysters at a very good price point. See more..

Stopped in after getting wind of this place on our way to Launceston and glad we did. Very welcoming and knowledgeable about their craft. Sat out on the patio under an umbrella and sampled a tasting paddle. Some very unique and tasty beers. Shame the hop vines were regenerating but it was the wrong time of year for them. Pick up some take home and continued on our way. Definitely worth a stop for any craft beer lover. See more..

We stopped here for what was going to be one drink but ended up staying a lot longer. Publican was lovely and met some very entertaining locals! We came back the next night for dinner as a group of 4 adults and 2 small kids and really enjoyed our night again. Food was good and there was a great area for the kids to play in. The service and staff were very friendly. Really looking forward to coming back when we're in Tas next. Thanks for a great night!! See more..

We stopped here by chance for dinner on a Friday night. We were warmly welcomed by Leigh the Licensee and shown to the restaurant. The fire was as warm as the hospitality. We ordered, prices were very reasonable and before long our meals arrived. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and look forward to another meal here. See more..
    Bars & Clubs
