This is wonderful day trip for those who like a challenge(the steep steps) and want a cheap day out. The Leven Canton is around half an hour from Ulverstone and once there you can have a picnic as there are picnic tables and toilets(a must). You can take dogs but they must be on a lead. The first look out is only 10-15 min walk but take a quick left turn and head down the steps(700) of them which loops to another lookout. There are bench's on the path with the steps if you need a breather. After taking in the 2nd lookout it all uphill back to the car park (free parking). There is another walk a short drive away that will take one down to the canyon floor. There is signage if you want to do this. See more..

A good 3 hour return walk. First 3/4 of the track is good and easy to navigate the last bit of the track is very rocky and steep. But well worth it once you reach the base of the falls. You can see to waterfalls along this walk Pelverata & Slippery Falls. Parking is available at the start of the walking track. See more..
