4.0Ashgrove Tasmanian Farm Cheese(465 reviews) - Factory/shop/cafe showcases what they do very well - all things dairy. Farms
We happened upon Ashgrove's whilst travelling along the Bass Highway from Launceston to Devonport. It is about a 45 to 50 minute drive north from Launceston. There was plenty of free parking. Ashgrove's seemed to comprise of part museum with a lot of fact sheets on cheese production, part shop with a good range of products for sale, large part cafe and large part storage facility for huge wheels of cheese. The building was large, well designed so that the various sections flowed into each other, very open, bright and clean. We bought some products from the shop and settled on some gelato (two scoops for $7-00) as the heavily focused cheese menu looked a bit too much for us given it was pre-lunch. The gelato was excellent.See more..
The rain started as we arrived, but we found a warm friendly atmosphere inside the cafe. My husband and I shared large warm scones with berry jam and cream. Trying to find Addison Street can be a little confusing, but Kate has put up many signs which clearly show the way. I was especially pleased to meet and chat with the "real Kate". The local people were thankful for rain as the area doesn't receive a whole lot.See more..

3.5Sorell Fruit Farm(144 reviews) - Yum Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Farms
After reading all the negative reviews about entrance fees and bad experiences I was very hesitant to take my family to pick our own fruit. We relented, went for a drive and are so pleased that we did. The entrance fee of $15 per person INCLUDED a KILO of fruit. (not to mention the samples we had along the way) - You pay $15 a kilo for cherries from the supermarket and they are certainly not of the quality of what we picked ourselves and we had a wonderful time doing it! The staff were also very friendlySee more..

4.0The Westerway Raspberry Farm(14 reviews) - Pricey berries but a nice spot for lunch Points of Interest & Landmarks • Farms
There’s a clever business here which charges $5 a head, and $15 a kilo for berries, meaning that if you bring the family those freshly picked berries could cost you $35 a kilo. But many take part just to give the kids a chance to run around, and enjoy the experience of picking your own berries. To save time, and money, you can buy your own in the store, which usually has a great selection of different freshly picked berries, and also sells cheese, tea, coffee, ice cream and cold drinks. There are picnic tables outside if you want to eat your berries, or maybe bring your own lunch and top it up with some berries, an ice cream or drink from the store. There’s no seating inside, so only stop for lunch here if the weather is good. It’s the perfect spot if you’re visiting the nearby Russell Falls and want to eat, but avoid the National Park’s fast food café up the road.See more..

A wonderful place to pick your own fruit in season. Picking is easy (usually no need to even bend down as the bushes grow to around two metres). The farm only opens for picking when there’s a good supply, so try ringing first. Berries are large and freeze well. Very reasonable cost compared with supermarket prices.See more..
4.5Seaview Farm(3 reviews) - Heaven On Earth Spent More than 3 hours Farms
It is a great farmstay with amazing view of the hills and the sea. The owners made us feel very welcome and at home. We enjoyed the big garden a lot full of flowers. We were taken around the farm in a 4-wheel drive looking at the cows and sheep close-up. We were lucky to witness an assisted birth of a baby lamb. There are platypus in a nearby dam!! The accommodation is clean and tidy. We enjoyed sitting in the lovely and cosy lounge room. The owner even taught us how to cook a rump steak which remained juicy and tender in a brand new kitchen. We like to visit again.See more..
