Robyn was so warm and friendly from the time I first emailed her until we hugged and said goodbye at the end of the tour. It was like spending the day with your favorite family member. She picked us up with a sign welcoming us, outlined our day, listened to us and made adjustments to meet our needs, and off we went. We were intent on finding a platypus in the wild, and Robyn, the platypus whisperer, did not disappoint. She even brought along a variety of Australian specific snacks, some homemade, for us to sample. Robyn's homemade Vegemite/cheese rolls made Vegemite believers of all of us on the tour. Visited Burnie for a port stop from our cruise and booked online. Cherie met us at Makers Market with the warmest smile,she drove our small group around to see Burnie natural scenery of opium and poppy fields. Along the way stopped at Bluehills honey farm to taste different types of honey. Cherie provide us with homemade treats to keep us going throughout the day. Went to the Nut for lunch she rang ahead so our orders were ready she took those that were willing on the cable chair to enjoy lunch at the top. We were able to walk around Stanley historical town and visit boat harbour beach. Cherie was so knowledgeable and had so much passion for Burnie. There are a couple of motorcycle hire businesses in Tasmania, but I'd bet none are as brilliant as Phil Ogden's Tasmanian Motorcycle Tours & Rentals. From our initial communication, to when we booked then had to cancel our original Tassie trip due to COVID lockdowns, to when we re-booked and this time made it to the island, every interaction was highly professional, surpassing our expectations. Phil was accessible, informative, patient, and generous. The motorcycles on offer are the best I've ridden, likely the best you'll find anywhere, including the king of adventure bikes: BMW's 1250 GS Rallye - a monster you can hire and ride once you stop drooling. Phil offers motorcycle gear like helmets, jackets, wet weather gear and more. His service is hard to fault... and then there's the island itself. Truffle shop is fanatic, beautiful and landscape is lovely. Pop in for a look. We did the truffle hunt with lunch. Anna (owners daughter) was fantastic and knew her stuff, each member of our party got to dig up a truffle and we had fun watching the three dogs going sniffing about and Anna explaining what they were doing. After the hunt we got to try fresh truffle, truffle in oil, balsamic and mustard and have a plough-mans lunch with wine. So generous and tasty! We booked Coastline Tours Tas for a hens day and it was absolutely unreal. Sarah is so much fun, professional and accommodating, when requested she even pumped up the tunes for us in the van when travelling between vineyards which everyone absolutely loved. We had a lovely morning spent truffle hunting with one of the staff and their dog. All of our 5 children were lucky enough to work with the dog and find a truffle. The smell is amazing and highly addictive. Our family filled up the entire car, so we had the tour all to ourselves. A lovely drive around the 22000 oak trees and learning all about how truffles grow. We thought it was well worth the $35 per person we were charged ( kids hunt free). Highly recommended. We then drove up further to mole creek national park for a bbq lunch.See more..

Viv took us around Fernglade Reserve abd her knowledge of the animals is second to none. So many beautiful critters to see, including the Platypus which Viv knows like the back of her hand. Was a wonderful abd peaceful place to interact with wildlife - so hard to believe it's so close to Burnie! Definitely a must see if you are in the area.See more..

I hired a boat and just loved it! The boat worked like a charme and was perfectly suited for fishing. The trailer was not in the best conditions to be honest and gave me some headacheas while driving on gravel roads. I guess usually people do not drive around that much as I was using the boat intensively for four days straight and put it on several different lakes. So if you want to use the boat in similar intensiv way, just tell the people and check the trailer with them before you leave. I am sure that want be a problem at all!
