Went on the Great Cathedral and Glow worms tour. Definitely worth the $19pp - which likely goes towards the upkeep of the cave access and preservation efforts. Our guide was delightful, warm and welcoming, and most importantly, knowledgeable about the geology and biology in and around the cave. The tour felt safe and well organised. The cave itself is obviously a wonder to behold, especially the cathedral, as well as the glow worms. The fern glade walk was beautiful. It was a 10 minute semi-steep walk through the undergrowth of the forest from the visitor centre to the Marakoopa Cave entrance. Alternatively, you can just drive from the visitor centre to the cave entrance carpark. At this current time, pre-booking of the tour was essential due to COVID restrictions on numbers per tour. We didn’t know this so turned up on the day only to find almost all the Marakoopa and King Solomon Cave tours were fully booked except for one later in the day, which we were blessed to get into. Caverns & Caves
Amazing. We did Marakoopa first and loved it so much we promptly booked this one for the afternoon. Both caves are fabulous. Great tour guides, really interesting experience. Can't recommend these experiences more highly! Definitely a must do. Marakoopa was (in my opinion) a little more "spectacular" due to the size but King Solomans was more intricate and decorative. -Beautiful spot
Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Caverns & Caves
This is a beautiful walk through rain forest and more very tall trees. Because Maydena is fairly isolated we were the only ones on the track leading to the cave so it was quite pleasant. We went at a leisurely pace which gave us time to enjoy the walk and to have a good look for the trout which inhabit the stream. See more..
