    - HARD WORK!
    Spent 1-2 hours Deserts

Interesting to go and see once, but WOW! is that a work out! The soft sand is a killer! Climbing is a lot of work, then clearing it out of the way on the first ride slows down your sled to snail pace. Try to use someone else's track to go down a bit faster (still slower enough to control as you can't actually get up any real speed from what I saw. There might have been some smaller hills further along, but we didn't go that far. You can either rent a sled ($10 for 4 hours) or some people were using cardboard. Note - I went barefoot thinking I was smart by not getting sand in my shoes. My feet sunk twice as far, twice as fast, making it require much more effort to climb. I'd recommend sneakers and just dumping the sand at the end. My 11 yo was so excited. He wanted to sled for hours. He sat down half way up the big hill on his second time and said he was done. If I went again, I'd do the ATVs. There were some there that day and they looked like way more fun! See more..
