Many visitors to Queenstown would just not find this lookout - on a back street, poorly signposted, with parking for barely two cars at a time and then there's the steep climb up a narrow path to the top. But there the visitor gets the story of the lookout and its artefacts as well as a FABULOUS view over the township and mountains. More people would visit if it was better advertised and more accessible. See more..

The Cottage is similar to the one that we viewed in Waratah but with hessian lined walls and the few basic comforts of the era. It was reputedly used for overnight accommodation when engineers were required to stay on site for security reasons. See more..
