    Day in the Porcupine Mountains
We traveled here while heading thru the Upper Peninsula for our Anniversary and really enjoyed some of the views in the Porcupine Mountains. We especially really liked Lake of the Clouds we traveled there early evening and could see alot of Fog coming off the mountians, The Park Ranger was very kind and offered us Porky Style Smores too which had Striped Cookies and Marshmallows and told us about a Meteor shower to check out that night ...Definently stop here if you have the time and am traveling thru Michigan is some phenomenol views

A must visit in Upper Peninsula
If you have time to visit only one place in Upper Peninsula, especially for famous fall color, this is the place to visit. Porcupine Mountains State Park is quite extensive and other attractions listed in TA including lake of the Clouds, Summit View tower, mirror lake etc are all part of this state park. There are many trails too and just need to collect info from visitor center. (yes, it is open in Covid era). We drove on 107th Engineers Memorial Highway, Silver City to Lake of the Clouds – 107 is part of highway M 26, M 64 from Houghton. This short drive follows the shore of Lake Superior, with strong waves hitting the highway and Lake of the Clouds is the most scenic spot in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. Try to go early because this beautiful view points overseeing the lake is very popular and it is the only place where they assigned attendance to collect park entry fee. Summit view tower is also a must go.
