ZACH with American Legacy Tours gave us a fantastic (impromptu) historical tour of downtown Cincy! We booked the wrong day by accident...showed up during crazy busy BLINK and by chance ran into him. He thoughtfully showed us a few highlights and gave us ideas on where to enjoy the city. We had a fabulous time wandering around this large and very interesting prison. We are big Shawshank Redemption fans and couldn't have been more pleased to see so many of the spots where the movie was filmed. Plus, there are lots of pictures from the film and some items also. Not only that, but there was also numerous rooms and information about the history of the prison itself. And then upstairs, which is in rough condition, was fascinating. The fact that it is in its natural, peeling paint, condition makes it that much more authentic and interesting. We also walked along actual small cells with peeling paint. It was nicely spooky (: We were there nearly 3 hours and enjoyed it so much! We did have to make reservations online a couple weeks ahead to be sure to have a spot. It was great!!!See more..

Our family decided to try a meal in an Amish home last weekend. There were 12 of us and Shelley did an amazing job coordinating- she even asked what our favorite pies were! The meal was so filling and what an experience. For less than $10 more than a typical buffet we experienced an actual Amish home. I’d advise any groups coming to the area to check out this!See more..

My classmates from The Toledo Hospital School of Nursing, class of '67 visited Amish Country to celebrate our 75th birthdays. We chose Troyer's Amish Tours , 3 hour tour with an Amish home cooked meal. From the moment we arrived and met our guide, we knew we were going to have a very informative tour and we were not disappointed. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining as we wandered through the countryside. Our tour ended with a home cooked Amish meal. The food was phenomenal and the hostess was warm and welcoming. Her children, who served the meal, captivated with their politeness and poise. I would recommend this tour to everyone.See more..

In the quaint town of Marietta, Ohio is an overlooked gem I hope this review will help you find. That gem is the Anchorage Mansion. In the process of being restored, this building gives you the feeling of what is was to live a privileged life in times gone by. Our tour guide, Karita, as well as the people in the gift shop were kind, welcoming, and eager to answer any questions you might have about the building, its history, and its ghosts. Did I say GHOSTS? Yes, this building is haunted. You can obtain ghost hunting equipment like you see on TV and conduct your own ghost hunt. I encountered spirits as did my daughter who went with me on the tour. Can't say enough kind things about Karita who was extremely knowledgeable and patient in answering questions.See more..
