5.0Athens Farmers Market(32 reviews) - Community meeting place around local food & local livelihoods Spent 1-2 hours Farmers Markets
I started going to the Athens Farmers Market decades ago when it brought people together on the old airport runway, now long-gone under tennis courts and a skateboard park. Now the largest year-round farmer's market in the state is about to move again. But what will always be a constant is the opportunity to access healthy local foods and the rich local community of vendors and customers. It is a meeting place, a crossroads for the diverse city and county, university and farmer, student and older adult communities to come together. So bring a bag for carrying home vegetables, local honey, fantastic bread and funky Avalanche pizza creations, herbs, soap, and naturally some local tortilla chips and popcorn.See more..

4.5Quarry Hill Orchards(17 reviews) - My favorite local orchard! Saturday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Lessons & Workshops • Farms • Farmers Markets
We’re a family-owned fruit farm near the shores of Ohio's Lake Erie in Berlin Heights. Since 1929, the Gammie family believed that the best fruit is fresh, local, grown with love, and shared with friends. For three generations, we’ve been proud to contribute to the rich agricultural history of Ohio’s Firelands. The heart of Quarry Hill is our bustling Market Barn, where you can try our delicious fruit; sip warm cider; meet our family and friendly dogs; and shop for farm fresh local produce and artisan goods made by our community. Come see for yourself and be a part of the tradition - take a tractor-pulled wagon ride through our orchards; walk the rows yourself, picking your own fruit; and visit Quarry Hill Winery for a glass of local wine grown from vineyards right here at Quarry Hill.See more..

4.5Hillcrest Orchard(15 reviews) - Love this place! Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Farmers Markets
When it comes to apple-eating in Holmes County, you can’t get any fresher than straight from the local orchard. Family-owned Hillcrest Orchard of Walnut Creek, which is family-owned and operated by the Merle Hershberger family, has 75 acres of orchard on which 22 varieties of apples and 12 varieties of peach are grown. We care for the trees, pick the fruit and prepare it for re-sale in our beautiful store, open seasonally from August through March. The store not only has apples, but is packed with quality goodness in local meats and cheeses, a full line of fresh produce as well as nuts, candies and snacks. Freshly-pressed cider During the fall months, you’ll find large displays of fall decorations, free samples of our signature fresh, sweet apple cider and a look-out deck from which you can experience a million-dollar view of the gorgeous Mud Valley. Motorcoach groups are welcome. Hours: Open August through March, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm. Closed Sunday.See more..

4.5Robinson's Apple Barn(10 reviews) - Great Place for Pies and Produce Spent < 1 hour Farmers Markets We stopped by just after visiting a local winery as they advertised fresh strawberries and we are so happy we did so. The owner was very helpful and was happy to talk about his place; his products as well as challenges of farming in todays regulation happy state. He has a beautiful shop full of produce, fresh made pies, nit naiks, local jams and jellies, etc. He took exceptional pride in his pies that are made fresh. Normally with just us two, we are leery of being to enjoy a whole pie but purchased a rhubarb pie as well as fresh strawberries. We have no regrets. The strawberries were fresh picked and you could taste the sunshine in every bite. The pie was outstanding. A delicious crust with plenty of rhubarb filling. We managed to eat it over two days (the second day was a good as the first). We will definitely return when in the area, especially as summer continues as he said his peach crop did not suffer any frost damage this spring.See more..

4.5Eddy Fruit Farm(3 reviews) - Farmer's Market at Working Apple Farm Farmers Markets
Eddy Fruit Farm is about a mile or so south of the better-known Patterson's Fruit Farm along Caves Road in Chesterland. Eddy is primarily a working apple farm with a market that sells its own apples (of course) as well as all kinds of locally sourced products, including locally grown fruits and vegetables, eggs, honey, flour, and other food products. What they have in stock is pretty much what is being harvested at the time. If they have the "rainbow" eggs in stock they are particularly cool - I've posted a picture so you can see. If you are looking for locally grown and produced food, this is a good choice. You can also pick your own apples from their trees if you prefer, as we saw several families do. This isn't a fancy place - it's a market at a working apple farm, but you'll have little doubt about what you are eating or where it came from.See more..

4.0Apple Country Farm(1 review) - Amazing store and corn maze Spent 2-3 hours Farmers Markets We love to get lost in corn mazes in the but heavy rain in our area made us skip our familiar fiels and look a little further away for our fall fun fix. Found Apple Country Farm online and liked the fact that it was large (14 acres) and rated difficult enough to make it challengng enough to justify the drive all the way south of Xenia. The maze featured two games to find stations to punch spaces on cards to win prizes- a Scooby Doo search and a Monoploy board game. It may be somewhat easier now that the corn stalks and the paths have been beaten down more, but it was quite challenging for us, and apparently for others as well when we visited soon after the maze opened. We were the first ones of the weekend to complete the Scooby Doo card and as of our visit no one had finished the monopoly game. We started fast but finally gave up after spending 45 minutes trying to find the elusive last four punches. The country store is worth a visit in its own right. We enjoyed the apple cider slushies and bought some cider and other goods to take home.See more..
5.0Camille Road Farm General Store(1 review) - Best bread of my life + 24/7 honesty shop for fresh eggs Saturday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops • Antique Shops • Farmers Markets
Right next to the road after the FRESH EGGS sign, this little treasure of a shop is run by a "retired baker" who also owns the goat, chicken and bunny farm behind it. That's where the fresh eggs come from and as well as the honey used in the bread (no refined sugar). So far these are the breads I have tried: cranberry almond, sourdough, blue cheese with walnuts, caramelized onion, poppy seed, and the famous "hippie bread". All were heavenly. There are also little antiques in the shop as well, but it is really all about the bread. Full disclosure: I stayed in the camper the owner rents over airbnb and got the first loaf and dozen eggs on the house and have been hooked ever since!See more..

Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops • Antique Shops • Farmers Markets This little shop is so cute, Decorated so cute and stocked with so many cute things! Did I say CUTE! So many different items along with a Saturday Farmer's market. The owner is such a fun person, with all kinds of great ideas on what to do with old fencing and pallets. She makes it seem like the possibilities are endless. Homemade soaps make the shop smell wonderful. Located on OLD Route 40 just East of Kirkersville (watch your speed) THE OLD HEN HOUSE is part of an old Egg farm with all of the country charm!See more..
5.0Cook's Corner(1 review) - Small New Local Store Blew Me Away Saturday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Farmers Markets If you like the Dutch Cupboard in Columbiana, you're going to love this place. Big, clean, wide aisles, nice deli, good selection & prices. For example, snacks, spices, beans, flour, local jams & jellies & honey, meats, cheeses, freshly made sandwiches, etc. It was amazing that their prices are lower than anywhere in the area on almost everything. For example, their Amish butter is -$1.54/lb. less than the supermarket. And the people are so nice & helpful! Since they are new and don't advertise, few people know about this place at this time but the people that have visited the store rave about it as much as I do.See more..
5.0Miller's Apple Hill(1 review) - Great Family Place to Pick-Your-Own Apples Spent 1-2 hours Farmers Markets
