North Bass island is a hidden jewel in Lake Erie! It's a beautiful and isolated island that will let you escape off the grid! -The only way to get there is by private boat or to charter a plane. The island does have a landing strip that allows easy access in good weather--as long as you have access to a small plane. -There is a small dock if you decide to take a boat over. -There are no businesses on the island--so bring your own food and supplies--unless you know people on the island. -There are about 8 private homes on the island. The owners are always friendly if you get a chance to meet them. One house on the southwest corner of the island has a historic wine cellar in the basement with old equipment still intact. There are still vineyards on the island that are operating to this day. -Lots of wildlife can be seen--including deer, diverse birds, and many water snakes. -There is a charming small church on the island that still has Sunday services and even a wedding once in a while. -A great island to jet ski around, set up a fire and makes s'mores, or just relax and have a beer with the beautiful lake view in the background.
