The Hayner presents a wide variety of cultural opportunities year-round. Classes, exhibits and music are our mission but look for many other special events popping up throughout the year such as Children’s events, bus tours, festivals and parties. Exhibits and concerts and most events are offered free and open to the public. The Hayner Whiskey museum is a permanent onsite installation. Hayner Whiskey was a famous pre-pro industry with an interesting mail-order business featuring an unmarked shipping container that did not give away its contents to temperate neighbors! The Hayner mansion is a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture built in 1914. There is no admission fee to tour the house. Be sure to include a tour of the lovely Miami County Courthouse next door. The courthouse was built in 1885 and features a unique cast iron dome and many cast iron, leather and tile attributes inside. It is a large place with plenty of seating and a nice atmosphere to see a show. If your int he area check their schedule to see if a show is playing during your stay. They have it every year around Thanksgiving Day. Hundreds of trees and other set-ups, all custom designed are for sale. The prices seem to be little high, but all the proceeds go to Akron Children Hospital. It is free to enter and free to look. kids can tyalk to Santa, too. A must see exhibit. 3.0Lucas County Fairgrounds(1 review) - Volleyball tournament Convention Centers Nice enough facility for a volleyball tournament, but a bit on the small side (Only 4 courts). Bleachers only at one end, so if your team plays on the courts at the other end, there is no seating. Bring your own chairs !!!! And that even gets crowded because of limited space on the side of the court. Bathrooms a little old, but sufficient. Snack bar had good food and a good variety at a fair price.See more..
