    Szalay's Sweet Corn Farm image
Szalay's is always a pit stop when we bike the Cuyahoga Valley National Park trails! It's located right beside the Hunt Farm Visitor Information Center on Bolanz road. It's about 3.4 miles from the Northern Lock 29 trail head and about 1.4 miles from the Ira trail head if you're coming from the southern part of the trail. We are practicing social distancing and did wear masks. Most were wearing a mask. It wasn't very crowded when we stopped because it was close to closing time on a Tuesday evening. We did feel safe. I hope they can stay afloat so we don't loose this gem of a farmers market! Give them a stop if you're on the trail! You won't be disappointed. See more..

MacQueen Orchards & Farm Market image
First time there today, bought more apples than we can eat to share with friends. Also picked up 2 bags of "feed" apples for the deer and squirrels. Plenty to do at the store as well. We did not venture into the orchard, since there were plenty of prepared bags of fruits. An owner told us the history of the orchard, the humble beginnings from 3 trees to their service to community during 2020 pandemic response. Worth the drive. See more..
  12. 5.0 Slate Run Living Historical Farm (83 reviews)
    - Very enjoyable place
    Farms
Slate Run Living Historical Farm image
Slate Run Metro Park in Canal Winchester is a wonderful place for a hike in the woods. Notable features in the park include wetlands, hiking and biking trails, a historic covered bridge, and a historic living farm (not open when I went). The short trail along the lake has a boardwalk and provides a good place for watching waterfowl. I found this park to be much less crowded than other Metro Parks in Columbus, probably because of its somewhat remoteness. But, with its attractive features, Slate Run Metro Park will certainly make for an enjoyable visit. See more..

    Monday: Farms
    Brant's Apple Orchard image
Brant's has the best cider around. The combination of apples they use give their cider a full bodied flavor that I just don't find in other ciders. In fact, I don't care for cider from Anywhere else. They have apple cider cake donuts and caramel apples. Hot cider and a glowing wood stove keep folks warm while they pick from at least a dozen varieties of apples and peruse the jars of apple products as well. You can tour the apple orchard or play on the playground or just sit and view the lake as you enjoy a breadbowl of soup or some other delicious bakery selection. Plan to spend just a bit of time. Trust me, go on Friday and get the apple fritter. It will be the best fritter experience of your life. They do sell out so show up early. We were in from out of town and visited here based on other reviews. There’s a small store we walked around and purchased apple butter and pumpkin butter and apple cider and were told that the fritters weren’t ready yet so we had to place an order and come back. It was well worth the wait and then some! The fritter was warm and drizzled with an apple cider glaze. It was crunchy yet soft all at the same time. Full of apples! They only make fritters on Friday so plan your visit accordingly. Hands down the best apple fritter to ever cross my lips! 4 fritters = $15.80 See more..
