It's about 3.4 miles from the Northern Lock 29 trail head and about 1.4 miles from the Ira trail head if you're coming from the southern part of the trail. We are practicing social distancing and did wear masks. Most were wearing a mask. It wasn't very crowded when we stopped because it was close to closing time on a Tuesday evening. We did feel safe. Slate Run Metro Park in Canal Winchester is a wonderful place for a hike in the woods. Notable features in the park include wetlands, hiking and biking trails, a historic covered bridge, and a historic living farm (not open when I went). The short trail along the lake has a boardwalk and provides a good place for watching waterfowl. I found this park to be much less crowded than other Metro Parks in Columbus, probably because of its somewhat remoteness. But, with its attractive features, Slate Run Metro Park will certainly make for an enjoyable visit.See more..

Brant's has the best cider around. The combination of apples they use give their cider a full bodied flavor that I just don't find in other ciders. In fact, I don't care for cider from Anywhere else. They have apple cider cake donuts and caramel apples. Hot cider and a glowing wood stove keep folks warm while they pick from at least a dozen varieties of apples and peruse the jars of apple products as well.
