For those local to Lake County (or nearby) this is the go-to spot to do an invigorating hike. If you do a bit of weaving about and backtracking, you can get ten miles in. But don't worry if you're not a seasoned hiker! Both the north and south entrances (there are three to the park) provide some much easier flat hiking. The south entrance also has a children's playground. All three entrances have parking and rest rooms, plus the south and Skok Meadow entrances have pavilions. Do pay attention to signage and make sure that you are heading back to the correct parking area as you can get turned around and turn your three mile wander into something significantly longer. A new viewing area at the north end (handicap accessible) provides a gorgeous view of the creek below. See more..

A wonderful equestrian facility nestled into the Appalachian foothills, riding your horse in the Wayne National Forest. Well maintained trails and nice stalls to keep your horse when not riding. Great people who watch out for their customers. We stayed 3 days and could have easily stayed longer if we had more time. See more..

Park at the Wetmore Trailhead. The trailhead is across the street to the left as you exit the parking lot. You can also access it from the Langes Trail and make it a loop. It is 0.6 miles out from the Butler trailhead and about 1.7 mile loop if you catch the Langes Run portion. It is mostly wooded and not difficult but slightly hilly. In this winter season it was not very busy. It is also a bridle trail but I did not see any horses on it midweek. There is a bathroom at the Wetmore trailhead and plenty of parking. This is considered part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. See more..

This is officially part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This trail is a bridle & hiking trail. You park at the Wetmore trailhead. The trail starts across the street & even though it says it is a loop you would have to walk the road back but we connected with the Wetmore trail & extended it for a total of almost 5 miles. It is hilly, wooded & there were a few creeks to cross over. Hiking boots recommended. Beautiful views along the way with some tall pines too. The parking lot was spacious but filling up on a Saturday morning. There is an area for horse trailers & there was only one horse seen on our visit. See more..

    Riding Run Bridle Trail image
You park at the Everett Bridge parking lot for this trailhead and you will have to walk about 0.25 mile to start of trail. Walk through the bridge and follow path to the right along left side of the creek and then as you get to the cross road there is a sign and path to take you to the trail. The parking lot was full on a Sunday morning but this trail was not busy (we only passed a few hikers and did not see anyone riding horses today). Parts of the path were very muddy. We went clockwise on the loop and the 2nd half was more fine gravel/part road and easier to navigate. It is hilly on the first portion. It takes you through some tall pines and along a valley ridgeline. Including the walk from the parking lot and back it was 3.75 miles. You can access some other trails from this parking lot. This is part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. There is a restroom at the parking lot. See more..
