A really peaceful and serene spot. Consider going in the evening or early when it is much less crowded. It can be a pain to find- here are the GPS coordinates: N 39 23.769 W 082 32.739. The patch is nice and flat and easy for anyone of any age or ability. It is a very short trail as well. I would love to come here when there is a lot of water coming over the falls- but its tough to time it when you live four hours away! At least try not to come in the dry season. See more..

    Ohio Caverns image
Ohio's largest and most beautiful cavern. Tours take guests through two different parts of the cavern. The Historic Tour begins at the site of discovery and includes the part that was originally explored from 1897 to 1925. The Natural Wonder Tour takes guests on a 1 mile walk through parts discovered after 1925. It includes the largest stalactite in Ohio, The Crystal King, along with many other marvelous formations and colors. The Winter Tour is the only tour offered from October 1st through April 30th. It is a hybrid tour, showing guests highlights from both the Natural Wonder and Historic tours. See more..
  3. 5.0 Old Man's Cave (394 reviews)
    - Be sure to visit the visitor center
    Caverns & Caves
    Old Man's Cave image
We recommend starting at the Upper Falls (it begins at the farthest spot from the Visitor’s Center, go down into the gorge, and make your way to the Lower Falls. You will see the cave (recess) and the whirlpool going this route. From the lower falls, you can go up and out (which is what we did) or you can continue on to Whispering Cave and/or Cedar Falls. Over the last few decades work has been done to make the trail more accessible and we’d say it is moderate to easy compared to other hikes we’ve taken. Kids can easily hike it. There are dangerous places and you really should stay on the path. At the Lower Falls, you take the steps up and out to the path above and to the cement sidewalk to go back passed the Nature Center and to the Parking Lot. The paths are one way. See more..
  4. 3.5 Perry's Cave (346 reviews)
    - Wonderful time with kids

    Perry's Cave image
This was the highlight of our trip for our kids. We did the gem mining, cave tour, mini golf, and maze. The cave tour is very short and felt a little underwhelming. However the gem mining was a lot of fun and you get a lot of value for the price. The package deal (multiple attractions) was well worth it for our family. The maze has a fun scavenger hunt that kept our kids occupied in the maze for awhile. Mini golf is well maintained. The staff who run the place couldn’t be nicer and more helpful. A great experience (good to know: the butterfly house is adjacent and the winery/other cave is across the street) See more..

I didn't know we had caves like this in Ohio. This is definitely a site to see. There is about a mile or so hike to it. Park at the Repelling parking lot and follow the orange blazes till you get to a creek. You will see on the other side an orange arrow to the left. Go that way to the bend in the creek. You will see white marking posts and a trail going straight. Follow that. That follows a creek. You will come to an outcropping of rocks with a wood fence along the front. Follow the fence and you will come to the cave. Great place to take photos. See more..
  8. 3.5 Deer Lick Cave Trail (2 reviews)
    - A short stop

    Deer Lick Cave Trail image
This is in the Brecksville Reservation Metro Park. There's a sign off the main road directing you to the cave. The parking area is very small. The "hike" is only a couple of hundred yards to an observation area. You can see all the caves. A short loop hike takes you down & around for a closer view. There is an incline to get back up.
