5.0High Road Gallery and Studios(1 review) - Open Fri. and Sat. 12-4 Saturday: 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM Spent < 1 hour Art Galleries
The gallery is located in an historic house on the northeast edge of Worthington. The owner Carol Hershey creates art in this space and provides space to other central Ohio artists (currently 13) who also work and display their work here. Some works are for sale, and there are classes offered. There were I think 4 artists there when we visited, and they were all very open and engaging. The art in oils, watercolor, chalk, and other media is displayed all over the rooms of the old house. There are different temporary exhibits also, currently there is one with Joseph Lombardo and his students. There was one of his oil paintings over a fireplace entitled Beaver Pond priced at $3,000. Most of the works were not that expensive! Parking is available in lots behind the house. Here is the history of the Buttles-Pinney-Brown House house: This Federal five-bay brick residence at 12 East Stafford was built in the early 1800's by the Buttles family. Advertised in the Columbus Gazette on March 1819 as "built with first rate materials," the owner indicated he was willing to accept soldier's warrants as payment. The property was sold for $1500 in 1823 and was referred to in the deed as "the two story brick house lately occupied by Buttles." In 1839, Sidney Brown, a cooper, purchased the property where he had a shop for making and repairing barrels. He also operated a grocery in a small building north of his home. The home remained in the Brown family until 1937. Later owners added the distinctive metal caps over the windows and the vestibule entry but the structure retains most of its original character. This home reflects the popular Victorian tradition of combining home and business at the same location.See more..

5.0The Artseen Gallery(1 review) - Small local art gallery featuring unique artistry Art Galleries While vacationing here I stopped in and realized the artists' work was a perfect fit for this area. WATER SIGNS by Hilary D Gent - showing her work through September 1st. Her waterscapes are formed by pouring paint directly on flat canvas, allowing the liquid to form in a way that left me feeling as if the paintings are moving. She captures thought-provoking images reflecting a vast assortment of color in the water along the horizon. Her second art form on display intrigued me. Check this artist out, I won't ruin the surprise with any description - definitely worth the visit!See more..

5.0Seilers' Studio and Gallery(1 review) - Wonderful Gallery Saturday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Art Galleries
Seilers' Studio and Gallery is home to the artwork of Michael and Kathleen Seiler painter and poet respectively. Unusual contemporary works in asphalt and alkyds coupled with poetry creates a beautiful array of museum quality works. Artwork is both in the process of being made as well as being displayed. These works were created in a traditional manner, using wood stretchers with heavly gessoed canvas, however that is where traditional ends. I have chosen asphalt because asphalt’s nature is labile, and has the potential for unexpected change. So life, ever changing, brings both good and ill. Asphalt, smooth and shiny, also reflects the colors of its surroundings. We likewise, in our personal journey, reflect the “colors” of our experiences. The alkyds lend some chemical changes and instability to the work. On occasion, color is added to signify some emotional element, demonstrating the very nature of redemption in a particular situation.See more..
