We are a canoe, kayak rental and camping center on the Hocking River. We offer both a 5 mile trip and a 7.5 mile trip. The 5 mile trip is better for beginners with less twists and turns in the river. Average paddling time is around 2 hours at summer level but we encourage folks to take their time and enjoy the many gravel bars on the trip, relax, your on river time! Our 7.5 mile trip is a very scenic area allowing you to stop and hike to the natural Rockbridge as well as watch the crazy zip liners going over your head toward the beginning of the trip, don’t worry, you are not in danger of them:). This trip at summer level can take between 3.5 to 4 hours of paddling time. When you are finished enjoying the river we do have private showers available to ease those aching muscles. We also have a great assortment of souvenir T-shirt’s and snacks available in our gift shop. We have been providing the best customer service since 1996! These may not be the fastest or the fanciest golf cart rentals on the island, but we purchased a combo boat/golf cart rental for off season and they were the best priced and got us everywhere we needed to go. Take Miller's Ferry over. To find the rental place, go to the top of the hill and go right at the road. E's is on the right. It is a very short walk. Signage will get you there.See more..

Our family of five brought bikes to ride on the Towpath Trail. I (adult male) was the only one that needed to rent a bike. Gentleman working there was friendly, quickly got me a bike (no one else was in the store at the time it seemed). He made an adjustment on the bike and it was ready to go. I mentioned we were looking to bike to the Beaver Marsh and he gave me good directions to get to the trail and head in the right direction. Rented for two and half hours which came to about $26. We had just bought my wife's bike second hand and purchased the wrong size handlebar grips for it before our visit to the Towpath. Century Cycles had the correct size grips that were comfortable for $11 (similar grip prices to some that I had seen on Amazon or Walmart). The gentleman took the old grips off the bike and put the new ones on in about 5 minutes with no additional charge. Great service and so happy to have the correct grips on the bike! Got here right as they opened. It seems that kayaking is more popular than canoeing but we had no reservation and secured a canoe to do the 6 mile trip. They were prompt in checking us in and getting us onto the water. The river was quiet at that point and rather shallow & despite quite a few fallen trees in the water it was easy to navigate. We had a GPS watch and the mileage was short of 6 miles but so be it. We were only the 2nd canoe out & once we got to the takeout station we had to wait quite a long time for the van to come & pick us up. Not sure why the wait. The personnel seemed pleasant enough but the van was in poor shape. 2 of the seat cushions had large rips/foam coming out and looked like you could fall through the seat.See more..

The owner, Vido, is super nice and helpful. Very accommodating to all people with all different skill levels. He explained, in detail, how to paddle board and the safety of being on the water. This was our first trip to Put-in-Bay, and we weren't sure whether to take our car over and back on the ferry or rent a golf cart. We were very glad we rented the golf cart. It was very convenient, located yards from the Miller Ferry dock. It was $24/day, because it was off-season in early October. We spent seven hours going to every corner of the island. The roads and town were almost deserted, so we could go everywhere easily. Their credit card machine was down in the morning when we rented, so we paid at the end of the day before catching the ferry. I'm not sure how the service would be during their busy season, and we noticed literally dozens of golf cart rental places all over the island, so there are many options. We didn't shop for deals, because $24/day seemed reasonable and not worth the time to look elsewhere.See more..

Our group did the 3 mile tube float. Overall, it was a great experience. Compared to other outfitters I have used this is a smaller one, but the service was good. We are not from this area and were completely unfamiliar with the river, but we were given excellent descriptions of what to expect. The river itself is a class 1 stream with gentle rapids and sections of flat water. The main obstacles were logs in the river that had to be navigated around, but nothing serious. There were nice sand bars and the river's bottom is mostly gravel with dirt banks.See more..

My mom and I did a 3 hour ride and it was so much fun! We quickly got the hang of it and we went on the trails. We went over 6 miles on the Towpath trail in Cuyahoga National Park. We rode to an area and had a little bit of ice cream, then kept riding. The workers explained how the bike worked and gave us the phone number to call if we needed them. The seat and handle bars were adjustable if needed. We were able to clip in a backpack to the back of the bike. This is a MUST if you are in the area!!!!See more..

We called Ernie's Bike Shop the day before we wanted the bike. They were cheerful, fixed us up exactly as we wanted, including swapping our SPD pedals for the rental bike pedals. We expected to pay $15 / hour for our trip but were pleasantly surprised to find that there was an applicable day rate. The bike was in excellent condition, the staff were cheerful and knowledgeable not just about bikes but also about the towpath trail. I recently was at Geneva On The Lake, and I am so glad to have been able to rent an Ebike for a couple hours. Not only was I able to quickly ride from destination to destination and sight see all that this location has to offer, I was able to escape the otherwise very hot and sweaty day I would have had! These bikes were a great way to be able to ride but not use all of our energy, keeping this day an easy and very positive experience that we did not want to end! The bike trail we went on was beautiful and took us past everything; from the shops, the restaurants, the lodge, the woods, campgrounds, and even to the beach. Everything we wanted to do the bikes easily took us there and we had much time to spare! Dan himself was very friendly and helpful, and I definitely will recommend this experience! I took my sons to get their pre-certs done here in March for our trip in May. We had Dave as their instructor and he was fantastic. He even took time to explain drift diving as we were going to Cozumel. The lessons and pool time were fantastic and the teens really loved the teaching style. He was very patient ( I mean three teens lol). I really enjoy taking my kids out Kayaking on the Maumee River. The River Lures Kayak Concession at Farnsworth is the path of least resistance to do this; it is inexpensive and a ton of fun. We typically rent a double Kayak and a kiddo sits in front and I do the paddling from the back. It usually takes us about an hour to paddle up stream (against the current), we go around an island and then let the current bring us back to the launch area. If it is windy, it can be brutal paddling a large double kayak against the current and the wind, but its not impossible and is always fun. There are a couple little spots where the kids like to get out and take a break on a little sand bar between the islands. I highly recommend this as an adventure with the kids!See more..

Have to give a shout out here to Hocking Hills Bike Rentals! My son loves to ride dirt bikes but doesn’t have enough free time anymore for it to make sense for us to own one. Hocking Hills Bike Rentals is 1 hour from our front door and not only rented us the bike and gear he needed, they let us use the track and trails on their property and provided some 1:1 guidance and company for my son while he rode today! We could have chosen to have the bike and gear delivered to another track or trail somewhere but the owner’s property was perfect for today’s outing. 3.0Hocking College Nature Center(1 review) - Cute Nature Center Gear Rentals We were looking for some indoor activities with maybe a little hands-on learning during our camping trip this Summer. We were supposed to have a handful of kiddos with us, but somehow our camping trip just wound up being my adult family and my 2.5 year old. Anyway the colleges nature center had listed some "classes" online that we decided to bring the little one too. The little presentations aren't quite as structured as we would have hoped - which considering its free and either students or volunteers running it, that does make sense. The center itself has some little exhibits including fish and reptiles, which are interesting. The toddler loved the exhibit with the sand, she couldn't get enough of it. We listened to the talk on skunks, and thought the live skunk was adorable. Once he's socialized and can come out and meet guests that talk will be much more worth a stop.
