  2. 5.0 Harbor Mountain Trail (37 reviews)
    - Fun drive, tough hiking and amazing views
    Hiking Trails
    Harbor Mountain Trail image
To get to the trailhead you have to drive about six miles up Harbor Mt Road, just off Halibut Point Road. The road is a one lane gravel road with lots of switchbacks and tight turns. Drive slow and easy and you’ll be fine. The hike is 2.5 miles to a shelter, and is up and down, than up and down and than up one more time. The views are amazing on a clear day. When we went up the clouds rolled in, it started to drizzle and then the sun came out. Great hike, a bit more challenging than expected See more..
  3. 5.0 Flow AK (37 reviews)
    - Best whitewater trip ever
River Rafting & Tubing • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Private Tours • Day Trips
    Flow AK image
I’m 61 and have done a bunch of whitewater trips over the years, including the Grand Canyon, all the canyons of the Rio Grande in TX, New River in WV, West Canyon in Utah, the Oconee in TN and a bunch I can’t remember. Six Mile beats them all. It has big features, sweet canyons, and is very technical, not to mention completely gorgeous. Scott and the guys at Flow AK are beyond expert and professional — the best I’ve ever encountered. The dry suits we were provided were the best I have ever seen, and they definitely kept the cold and the water out. Our small group worked on safety and working together, then we had fun! A terrific trip. I’m so glad I found the right company. See more..
  4. 5.0 Valdez Water Taxi and Charters (37 reviews)
    - Fantastic morning on the boat with Josh
    Sunday: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM Ferries • Fishing Charters & Tours
Valdez Water Taxi and Charters image
Josh was recommended by our air bnb host to go do a wildlife/sightseeing tour. He went out of his way to take us out at the last minute as we were only in town for one day. He was a great knowledgeable guide and patient with me as I struggled with the binoculars. Had a fantastic morning out on the boat with him. And I would say I highly recommend him over the larger boats as he can get in to tighter spaces and see more. See more..

This was an amazing rafting experience ! We were in town (Haines) for only one day with no previous arrangements, headed to the Eagle sanctuary. With only a phone call we had an experienced, knowledgeable engaging tour guide, that listened to what we were interested in, and accommodated all our requests. Further, we found this father – son team that operated this company to be instantly likeable, to the point that weve already begun plans to return. See more..

My family and I had an amazing fishing trip with this outfit! Cory was able to get us on one of his boats on short notice when every other company was pretty much booked! Our guide was amazing and got us on a Kenai King! We couldn't believe how big this fish was. What an amazing opportunity! We had such a good trip we booked with him the following day. All 4 of us on board limited out on Sockeye Salmon! We really didn't know what to expect because we don't really fish that often, but we are already planning a return trip to fish with these guys! 11. 5.0 Starrigavan Recreation Area (35 reviews)
    - Mosquito Cove trail is here I believe, well worth a visit
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Starrigavan Recreation Area image
I'm not exactly sure I'm placing this review at the right spot, but basically at the current end of the road north (the road is being expanded as I right this but isn't open yet) there is a nice boardwalk around the estuary and then on the ocean side of the highway there is a few campsites and the Mosquito Cove trailhead. I highly recommend this hike! It's about 1.5 miles total if you do the loop, and there is a bit of up and down so take that into consideration, but if you're in decent shape you should be fine. There is usually posted notices of bear activity in the area, so a can of bear spray should probably be carried as a precaution. But the forest is amazing and the trail if well maintained. See more..

  13. 5.0 Viking Travel, Inc. (35 reviews)
    - Took our dream and made it happen!
Sunday: Multi-day Tours • National Parks • Ferries • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Day Trips
    Viking Travel, Inc. image
Viking Travel and agent Fini gave us a wonderful experience. We did not want to cruise Alaska's Inside Passage and found the Marine Highway ferry system very complicated to string together our destinations. We wanted to spend more time in the small towns and seeing wildlife instead of on the cruise boat. Fini took our destinations and created an efficient itineary to visit 5 stops. She came up with fanscinating side trips which we were not aware of within our itinery. We still had much time to explore on our own: parks, museums and hiking. The accommodations had local flavor and great location. Saw Juneau, Sitka, Glacier Bay, Skagway and Haines. No gliches! Well done. See more..

We spent 2 wonderful days with Scott on The Pelican and would highly recommend his tours. We did one day of whale watching and one day at the LeConte Glacier. Scott is very experienced with great knowledge of and love for the areas he guides in. He took great care to point out all of the different animals, young birds, and beautiful sights. We saw 50+ whales on our whale watching trip, and even got to see 2 breach! The boat is comfortable and safe, and we appreciated that it had a small bathroom too, as we were out on the water all day. - Great one-day kayak rental
    Sunday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM Kayaking & Canoeing
    Sound Paddler image
Just had an amazing kayak rental experience with Sound Paddler in Whittier. We've rented kayaks in various places in Alaska, including Whittier, and this was by far the most enjoyable. Easy to work with. Understanding. Helpful. We planned on a morning kayak, arriving through the tunnel at 10:30. However, in Whittier the wind was blowing and the water was pretty choppy. Sound Paddler called ahead to let us know, and once we arrived they were happy to accommodate putting off our rental for later in the day. No hassles. First, Sound Paddler offers one-day kayak rental, which is not the case with all outfitters. Also, with the 2020 pandemic ongoing, we were able to get 30% off the regular one-day double kayak rental rate, which was amazing. Bottom line: use Sound Paddler, you won't be disappointed. Copper River Guides image
6 days king salmon fishing on Klutina and Gulkana rivers 6-11.7.2022 with Brandon was absolutely the best. Brandon was working hard that our 4 person group got kings and he succeeded it nicely! It was very safe on the raft or on the banks although there was an aggressive black bear moving around. And on the last day Brandon arranged a fight of the year with a monster king hanging on the edge of the cliff. Great 6 days, thank you Brandon! See more..

  22. 5.0 Points North Heli-Adventures (30 reviews)
    - Amazing!
Spent More than 3 hours Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Points North Heli-Adventures image
Points North Heli Adventures is the only heli-skiing operation utilizing the southeastern side of the Chugach Mountains. Over the past decade, the Chugach Range has proven to be the premier destination worldwide for helicopter skiing and boarding. Accessed by ferry or plane, Cordova is unlike any other community in the state. Alaska Airlines flies into Cordova twice daily from Seattle and Anchorage. Upon arrival, a PNH team member will greet you and help with your luggage. A short, fifteen-minute drive to our facility offers many opportunities to see bald eagles, moose and the beautiful town of Cordova. Along the way you will also view the breathtaking Chugach Mountains that you will soon be skiing or riding. Our base location in Cordova is 40 miles from Valdez and allows us to provide you with a 'private' playground in our backyard. While the other 5 operations in Valdez share terrain, we are able to explore areas that the others cannot conveniently access. We continue to find new terrain each year catering from the intermediate level recreation skier to the world-class athlete. If you have heard of heli skiing in Alaska, and are already this deep in your research of operators, it is more than likely we have terrain to suit your desires. With over 2000 square ski-able miles available out the front door, there is more terrain than one could ski or ride in a lifetime! Our lodging is all-inclusive. Our facility is not a hotel or motel. It is a beautiful state of the art facility located directly on the waters edge. Our 3 helicopters are a few steps away from your room eliminating the drive to the heli port each day. Everything is located here on the property. All of our meals are guaranteed to make your mouth water and our local chef specializes in fine cuisine. Within the lodge we also offer wireless Internet access, just in case you are thinking of work while on vacation. When you visit us be assured your safety is paramount! All of our guides have extensive tra... See more..
  23. 5.0 Fish Em LLC (30 reviews)
    - Travis and Lori made our TRIP
    Fishing Charters & Tours
    Fish Em LLC image
Guarantee the best fishing guides ever. Travis and Lori are so accommodating and kind. It's clear they are doing what they love and love doing what they do. We went to the Kenai for the salmon run and Travis took us out to the secret spots. When no one else was catching fish - WE WERE because he understood the migration and the flow of the fish and the tides. I thought fishing was as easy as tossing a hook in the water - it can be - but if you're serious about catching a fish he can show you some techniques to really maximize your catch! In our group of 12 people, we had everything from 5 to 71 years old and experts to novice fishermen... EVERYONE was happy and came away from that experience thrilled; our trip was saved because of Travis and Lori. I will be taking my daughter back for ice fishing in March. This was NEVER on my radar before, I'm more of a spa and nice dinner girl, but they made it so fun! See more..

I have been wwoofing on Ron's farm and have had the opportunity to ride with Ron on quite a few of his trail rides. I have learned soo much about horsemanship and the native plants up here. On our way to 'North America's most westerly highway point' we discovered this great spot. Drive all the way to the end of Anchor River Road. There you'll find a small parking lot (near the boat launch) and you have easy access to the beach. When you go for a beach walk, be sure to check the tide! It's a very good place to watch eagles (on the beach and in the trees). Across Cook Inlet you can see three volcanoes: Mount Augustine, Mount Iliamna, and Mount Redoubt. Tulchina Adventures image
We used Tulchina Adventures for kayak rental and transport out to Thompsons Cabin. It was more expensive than I might have initially guessed, but definitely worth every penny. Beth is extremely competent and reliable with her commitments. When our plans were delayed due to weather, she was able to transport us out to the cabin a day late. We appreciated her knowledge of the area and made sure to follow her advice when kayaking out on the lake. It does take her a bit longer to respond due to the fact that she's often out transporting people across the lake. While we didn't stay on her property, we did walk over to the office and could appreciate its beauty. Bonus points for two really great dogs! See more..

Our fishing charter experience was great! The Captain was very patient and dedicated to ensuring that everyone on the charter caught a king salmon. We didn't have any luck for almost 5 hours so he kept trying to find the sweet spot, which finally happened. And his assistant was particularly helpful as my friend and I were stranded at Deshka Landing after our ladies left us to go Denali flight-seeing. She went above and beyond to give us a ride into Wasilla so we could enjoy drinks and food to wait for our ladies to pick us back up. See more..

    Steven Miley Photography image
My sister and I with our families recently did a Northern Lights trip with Steven during a vacation/bucket list trip to Fairbanks/North Pole. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip! We booked the multi-night option, and I'm so glad Steven recommended this. It was cloudy the first couple of nights, and Steven was great about contacting us each morning to let us know the forecast for the rest of our trip. On the third night, the forecast was clear, so we went for it. Steven picked us up at our Air BnB in a van that fit all 9 of us. We drove 30-45 mins outside of Fairbanks to a frozen lake that he was familiar with. As soon as we arrived, the skies lit up...it was unlike anything any of us had ever seen...remarkable! We loved that he is an expert photographer, and he got some fantastic shots of us. He also helped the one photographer in the group set up her camera and tripod to get the best shots. The rest of us used our iphones and actually got some decent pics too, although nowhere near the quality of what Steven did. We'd love to come back in the summertime for backcountry hiking with Steven, as he really knows the area quite well. See more..

Family friendly adventure!!! Family was visiting Alaska from California. We were in Cooper Landing and called Erick. Good decision! Erick provided us with things to do before our fishing adventure. During our day on the river, Erick was a great guide. He gave us plenty of opportunities to catch fish and explained a good deal about the history of the area. He cleaned a trout for us and showed us what the fish had been feeding on, giving us a little history lesson to boot. I would recommend the trip to people wanting to see beautiful country with somebody who loves the outdoors and who will definitely get you on the fish!!! See more..

Wow! If we could give more stars as a rating for captain Katie and captain Brian we would. We visited in May with another couple and had a blast on our fishing charter for Halibut and Salmon. We also went on the Eco tour across the Kachemak Bay and saw the beautiful wildlife. Katie and Brian know so much of the area and went out of their way to make our trip special. Their personal approach and passion for fishing and showing people the sights is what makes this so unforgettable. We caught a ton of fish and had so much fun. Would definitely recommend booking with Reel Salty! We can’t wait to come back. See more..

Jake is by FAR the best guide I’ve had the pleasure of fishing with. I’ve fished all over the world and nothing compares to the fly out trip with Jake. Catching fish (limited out in an hour) was only the icing on the cake compared to scenery, bears, flight, and having Jake be your guide. I felt like I’ve know him for 20 years and we were long lost friends. If you have kids, he will make sure they have the time of their lives. If you are thinking about doing a fly out trip with Jake, quit thinking, book it now, and thank me later. Oh yeah, the only reason it took an hour to limit out was because I was taking pictures and video for 3/4 of it. See more..

Taylor and Cole were fantastic from the start. Our first concern was "is the trip suitable for our 6 and 8 year old boys"?. Taylor completely assured us that it was safe and fun for young children learning to fish. He knows the river and it's secret buckets to fish Like the back of his hand. ****Highly recommend***** Taylor/Cole- See you guys again next summer! See more..

Took several excursions in Wrangell with different companies but Muddy Waters was the best. Zach Taylor’s boat was more comfortable. I truly felt that every seat had a good view. Zach himself was very engaging, answering my questions about our destination, Anan Bear Observatory, as well as insights on growing up and choosing to remain in Wrangell. He’s also an honorable person who refunded us on our 2020 aborted trip (Covid lockdown), even though it was non-refundable. His treatment of us then was the determining factor in us renewing our Wrangell trip in 2021. 100% recommend his company. See more..

This insures the highest quality fruit is picked at its peak of ripeness. You will taste the care and consideration that is given to our farm and our unique wines. HOURS: We are open for online ordering and curbside pickup only. The tasting room is closed this summer. See more..

No motor? No problem! Felix made me a drift boat believer today and had us slamming silvers right off the bat away from the crowds. After a fast 2 person limit we finished out the day targeting Dollys and Rainbows. Great experience with a great guide, can’t wait to book with him again! See more..

I've done a few tours with this company and they've always been really great. I did the half-day glacial hike and felt like I saw so much and it was an amazing. I did a guide in August with a friend and September with my parents and just the changes in the glacier within a month was amazing to see. You can also really tell the guides are well informed and passionate and love being guides here. You really can't go wrong with any tour. As my step-dad said: "I did something I didn't know needed to be on my bucket list!" I also did an ice climbing tour with the guide Tristan. Easily one of my favorite things I've ever done and I want to do more of it. Tristan is very confident and knows how to make you feel comfortable. Great guide! See more..

    - awesome trip to the glacier

even though it was a rainy day we got to see a lot of birds and seals on south marble island and mountain goats on another island. we passed quite a few humpback whales on the way to john hopkin's glacier. we picked up 2 kayakers on another island and saw a coastal bear and some even saw a wolf (1st one for this season for our national park guide). I love that there were a couple of seals bobbing along the shoreline as we were loading the kayaks on the boat. Both the crew and national park guide were awesome. Lunch was included in the cost and free hot drinks were available throughout the trip. Bathrooms were very clean as well as the inside cabin and outside deck area of the boat. as it was the end of the season the boat wasn't full and passengers had an opportunity to talk to each other. we even got to see how the park guides got picked up and dropped off from the huge cruise ship. It was pretty interesting. See more..
  48. 5.0 Battery Point Trail (22 reviews)
    - Well constructed and maintained
    Spent 1-2 hours Hiking Trails
    Battery Point Trail image
We hiked this trail today. One of the best maintained trails we have hiked in Alaska. The forest areas are lovely with gravel on the trail. Some elevation changes may be a challenge for some, so don't be surprised. There are bridges over little creeks or large rocks placed aa stepping stones. We saw sea birds, porcupine, bear scat, scoters, winter wrens and many mushrooms. If you hike it with little children plan on carrying them part of the time. There are some benches for a rest if you find the trail tiring. Hike out to the beach and keep walking on the beach and you will get to Battery Point...close to the channel marker. No restrooms, no trash cans, no fresh water. Pack it in, pack it out! See more..
  49. 5.0 Chilkat State Park (22 reviews)
    - Great views!
    Spent 2-3 hours State Parks

Getting there required going over a gravel road full of very deep potholes then going down a very steep hill with sharp switch back turns. Twice as bad coming back out. Use 4 wheel drive (if you have it ) to make the climb easier through all the large ruts. The view of rainbow glacier was worth it! Be sure to go in the morning so the sun is on the glacier for great pictures. See more..

Jason was excellent from the booking thru the float. He was very honest on what to expect and he guided a great float with many personal best. His advise was stellar and dead on to yield good results. I At age 60 I have taken many trips and Jason was or is one of the best guides I have had. I am planning many more with him in the future. High recommend staying at his cabin as it is nicely located and very comfortable. See more..
