The tallest Mountain in North America has been on my bucket list for many years. Talkeetna Air Taxi allowed me to see it from every angle & it was breath taking. The pilot (Chase) was outstanding, pointing out terrain and land marks. The entire staff were very helpful, polite, knowledgeable. The tour was all that we had hoped for. Eric, our guide has a wealth of experience and we explored several areas off the main tour course on the way to the lake and glacier. The tour is 4 hours and Eric timed it perfectly. We also needed to move up the standard departure time by 30 minutes in order to be sure to get back to our cruise ship on time and that was no problem. The tour was considerably less expensive than those booked through the cruise ship, but comparing the experience with passengers that booked through the ship, we definitely had an equivalent experience. I would definitely use Breakaway if we ever return to Wrangell and highly recommend them.See more..

We were planning to drive the gravel road to McCarthy with our rental SUV but after chatting with the locals and other visitors, we decided to take the Kennicott Shuttle. Boy, that was one smart decision - the gravel road is NOT fun with all the twists and turns; worse are the many hidden potholes. Our driver, Jeff, confessed that almost every other week, he would get a flat on that road. BTW, Jeff has lived in Alaska for 17 years and since he has properties inside and outside of McCarthy, he drove this road thousands of times. Chatting with Jeff gives us that chance to learn a lot about living in Alaska, its people and its beauty.See more..

Great tour! Literally the only way to get to the Arctic Ocean via Prudhoe Bay. Just about everyone on the tour went into the ocean and all of our questions about the pipeline and ocean were answered. Setting up the hunt was easy from the start working with Misty. She sent us recommended gear lists which made things simple if you're bringing your own camping gear. The contract was straight forward and if I had any questions she was always happy to answer questions or put me in touch with one of the other members of the team. Upon arrival to their base camp we were immediately given an update on fly times and what to expect as far as weather. The pilots were incredible and very informative. Fort Abercrombie was beautiful, with short to medium hikes. We gave her a call when we wanted to return to the Visitor Center, and she was there within 15 min.
