My husband and I did the 10am mushing tour, and we loved it! We were able to ride on the same sled. Our guide musher, Matt, was fantastic, had a great attitude, answered all of our questions and told us about each dog that was getting attached to the gangline. It was interesting to see the strategy of lining up a team of dogs. Part of the time is spent socializing with the dogs as they prep for the mushing tour and then other time spent on the trail. The dogs were so excited to get running and clearly love pulling. If you stand on the foot boards on the back of the sled, be prepared to put in a little effort in going up hills. I rode in the sled so didn't have to do much work (held on tight). It felt like a really fun rollercoaster ride at times since it wasn't always flat during the tour which made it very fun. The scenery is beautiful through the snowy woods. This is a must do on a trip to Alaska! See more..

Experience the thrill of driving your own team of Alaskan huskies around our private racing trail system. In this adrenaline-fueled, behind-the-scenes experience, learn how these amazing creatures live, play, and train in a 4-time Iditarod champion’s kennel. With smaller groups for a more personal experience, you and one other person from your group will drive your own team of dogs through the beautiful birch and spruce forest. Our experienced guides will talk about our kennel's involvement in the Iditarod, and will teach you about how these amazingly tough dogs and mushers survive and thrive on 1,000 mile endurance races through the heart of Alaska. Many of the dogs on your team are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions. All the dogs at our kennel are extremely friendly and love attention; throw the ball, walk with the dogs, or have a seat and cuddle a puppy! See more..

    - July 2022 - Great Experience With Golden Eagle

I just want to give the biggest thumbs up to Jared, Julian and the entire Golden Eagle team. I used their services to visit the 5 National Park Service sites up in that neck of the woods in July, 2022. Quite simply they were great. These parks and monuments are a bit out of the way, and they are magical. Golden Eagle has extensive knowledge on what you can see there, how to see it, how to get to it, and they do it safely with a great deal of skill. Again -- there's not really a big enough font to represent how good these folks are; It was a great time and I would recommend Golden Eagle in a heartbeat. I hope I have the chance to go back! My sister and I with our families recently did a Northern Lights trip with Steven during a vacation/bucket list trip to Fairbanks/North Pole. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip! We booked the multi-night option, and I'm so glad Steven recommended this. It was cloudy the first couple of nights, and Steven was great about contacting us each morning to let us know the forecast for the rest of our trip. On the third night, the forecast was clear, so we went for it. Steven picked us up at our Air BnB in a van that fit all 9 of us. We drove 30-45 mins outside of Fairbanks to a frozen lake that he was familiar with. As soon as we arrived, the skies lit up...it was unlike anything any of us had ever seen...remarkable! We loved that he is an expert photographer, and he got some fantastic shots of us. He also helped the one photographer in the group set up her camera and tripod to get the best shots. The rest of us used our iphones and actually got some decent pics too, although nowhere near the quality of what Steven did. We'd love to come back in the summertime for backcountry hiking with Steven, as he really knows the area quite well. See more..

My family had a wonderful visit with Bill and his dogs. They were very hospitable and answered the many questions that we had about the dogs and what to expect on the dog sledding tour. It was a once in a lifetime type experience and I would highly recommend doing this with someone like Bill who has been mushing for many decades. Additionally, the 1-hour drive from Fairbanks to Nenana offered many spectacular views of the Alaskan wilderness and mountain range. See more..

We had a fabulous time on the Glacier trek on Matanuska Glacier with Mitch and Drew. These guides taught us so much about the glacier. They were fun and engaging while keeping us all safe. What an incredible experience! We had a group of 7, ranging in age from 12 to 43 with varying physical aptitudes. Everyone had a great time. They provided all the gear we needed. Since we had a rental RV, we even got to camp in their parking lot for free. Amazing! See more..
