Amazing Northern Lights experience!
My sister and I with our families recently did a Northern Lights trip with Steven during a vacation/bucket list trip to Fairbanks/North Pole. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip! We booked the multi-night option, and I'm so glad Steven recommended this. It was cloudy the first couple of nights, and Steven was great about contacting us each morning to let us know the forecast for the rest of our trip. On the third night, the forecast was clear, so we went for it. Steven picked us up at our Air BnB in a van that fit all 9 of us. We drove 30-45 mins outside of Fairbanks to a frozen lake that he was familiar with. As soon as we arrived, the skies lit up...it was unlike anything any of us had ever seen...remarkable! We loved that he is an expert photographer, and he got some fantastic shots of us. He also helped the one photographer in the group set up her camera and tripod to get the best shots. The rest of us used our iphones and actually got some decent pics too, although nowhere near the quality of what Steven did. We'd love to come back in the summertime for backcountry hiking with Steven, as he really knows the area quite well.

Bucket List Dream
We can’t say enough good things about Steve. He made it possible to fulfill a lifelong Bucket List item – seeing the Northern Lights! Steve has so many strong talents. We are going to focus on 3 of them: 1) He is very knowledgeable on the Northern Lights, and has the tools to track the Northern Lights and the weather 2) Steve is very knowledgeable with photography. He assists with all the necessary settings and composition, and 3) Steve has great “People Skills”. He went out of his way to make our trip so enjoyable. Steve also worked with us before our trip, providing us with a wealth of information and helped plan our trip; determining the best time to go to achieve the best results. If you haven’t already, I would recommend downloading his paper on photographing the Northern Lights “How To Artistically Photograph The Aurora”, it is a great tutorial. Steve did all of the driving, from picking us up at the airport, renting winter clothes, driving to our base camp in Healy (outside of Denali), tours of the Northern Lights, Wildlife, and Sunsets, out to eat and groceries, then finally returning us back to the airport. We are older, and I hate driving in snow/ice, the dark, and the unknown; Steve handled it all and removed all of the stress from our trip! We went in Mid-February, 2021; it was very cold. We experienced 4 nights of magnificent Northern Lights and one night of an amazing sunset over Mt. Denali. We also saw moose and other wildlife during our trip. We would recommend Steve to anyone. Steve is kind and patient and is great for older groups (like us); he is also young and fit and can handle the physical activities if you want. We got the see the Denali area in the middle of winter. We are planning on returning in September 2022. This would allow us to see the fall colors, hopefully capture the Northern Lights reflecting over water, and it would not be as cold. Steve, Thank You for making our Fairbanks, Alaska, Northern Lights Vacation an experience of a lifetime! I can see why you have all 5 stars review on Trip Advisor – it is well deserved!
