We, as a group of 18 neighbors, were lucky to have Dave, Tyler and Barbara as our drivers and guides for the Heritage Tour of Fairbanks one day; Chena Hot Springs and Northern Lights Tour another day: Aurora Viewing Cabin still another day: and finally for the Arctic Circle Trip. They packed a lot of vacation into one week for us. All were very attentive to our needs as an "active adult" (read senior) group! The information/narration along the way was excellent. They were always punctual when it came to picking us up at our lodge. Although we did not see the full Auroras, we did get a glimpse of them on the Arctic Circle Trip. This trip couldn't have been better. From the moment the shuttle collected us, to the moment they dropped us off again, the staff were friendly and keen to share their knowledge of the area and history surrounding it. Thanks to our eagle eyed guide, we were lucky enough to see a wild bear on a beach, before heading further out and finding a pod of very curious porpoises and a number of Humpback whales, including at least one with a calf. This trip exceeded our expectations and made for an incredibly enjoyable and memorable day. We just finished a four day long range fishing trip out of Homer on the Sundy with six family and friends. Captain Garrett and Gavin were awesome and went above and beyond to make it a trip we will never forget. Everywhere we stopped we caught a ton of fish, including true trophies of all species we were targeting. The weather was amazing, whales were everywhere, the deck was constantly filled with fish, and we had an unbelievable time. After the trip we had our fish processed at Ninilchik for an excellent price and superb final product. Great trip! This trip could have flopped with any other outfit. On August 10, my son and I were on the six person boat with Manny as our guide. In route to the fishing area we had to turn back due to bad weather and a rough sea state. Manny found a protected spot where we fished for several hours and the boat caught its limit of yellow eye. The weather cleared in the afternoon and Manny moved locations and we caught halibut, cod and then Silver Salmon. Some fishing boats didn’t leave Whittier due to the morning weather. I highly recommend Crazy Rays’s and Manny. They have excellent fishing equipment and Manny is a top-notch a guide who knows where the fish are and how to catch them. This was such a fun adventure! David is very professional and super fun! We started early, 6:30am, so we got to the best fishing spots first. Over the years I’ve enjoyed fishing with guides all over the country and now that my daughter is old enough, 10 yrs, to also truly enjoy the experience as well, we have started taking trips together. After some research we booked with Brad at AKFFF and we were extremely glad we did. We spend a beautiful day floating down two different rivers chasing rainbows. It was a bit chilly first thing in the morning and Brad let my daughter use his wife’s gloves which she really appreciated. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our mostly novice fly fishing group as we quickly improved enough to all fight nice rainbows in some of the most beautiful scenery in the country! If I’m ever fortunate enough to find myself in Alaska again I’ll be looking up Brad at Alaska Kenai Fishing for Fun for another great day on the water! 1/2 Day Fishing the Kenai River with J.J. We got lucky, we didn't know any guides so we left it up to the company. We fished with J.J. and it couldn't have turned out any better. All 4 of us were pretty much river fishing novices, JJ was a great instructor and has patience and knows what he's doing. Very laid back but constantly teaching and notices everything going on around him on the river. We caught 9 Sockeye in a short amount of time, lost as many but had the time of our lives out there. JJ knows where to find the fish and knows the best techniques, he's energetic and active, great with the net and will chase your fish way downstream if necessary. We did the full day rafting and gold panning adventure. And this was an ADVENTURE — the raft dropped us and a guide off on a little island where we hiked on a thickly wooded moose trail and forded a creek (they give you waders!) to get to the gold panning site. And this is no touristy little gold panning — it’s hard work and the real deal! Our guide, Mike, was so knowledgeable and fun. My kids (10, 12, and 14) had a blast. The river float was also beautiful, the scenery is unreal and our rafting guide Tom was so knowledgeable and patient. My one caveat would be that although the website makes this sound like a low-key outing, the gold panning portion is actually quite physically demanding, so I would not recommend it for very young kids or people who don’t have a basic level of physical fitness. That said, we are no backwoodsmen — just some regular suburbanites — and we had the time of our lives!See more..

My family has been visiting the town of Cooper Landing for many years and we always book at least one evening fishing trip for when we are there! John and Heather both do a great job making us feel welcome. John is very knowledgeable and loves to share stories, answer any questions, and help you catch as many fish as possible! John knows all of the hot spots and was able to get a limit of salmon for me and my wife even when we were there more than a week before "prime" fishing! We will definitely be going back. I’m a local to Valdez and my boyfriend and I went up in the heli with Pilot Casey for the first time today. We went to Valdez glacier, and it was awesome. You really can’t grasp how vastly beautiful this place is unless you see it in the air. Casey’s piloting was smooth as butter (I was worried about getting motion sick, it wasn’t a problem at all) and he gave the tour well, pointing out all the cool sites and searching for critters. The heli was super clean and we felt comfortable considering the current COVID protocols. We will be recommending VS Helicopters to all of our friends and family who come to visit, and will most likely be taking another tour with them in the near future. Favorite part of the trip besides catching unbelievable halibut was the attention the crew gave me to my seasickness issues. Boat Captain was a delight and her knowledge of fishing in the ocean is second to none. Salt water fishing can be a little tough on me do to my sensitive sea sickness issues. If you were an aged angler, you became picky, and you knew it is not easy to find the right fishing guide all the time, especially in new locations. But We were extremely lucky to booked the one with Reubin on our first trip to Kenai River. Reubin is decent and quiet, his voice is gentle, but when you capture each word he whispered, you will realize how precise and expert he is. His boat is clean, the line is crystal and bait is fresh and dedicate treated. We are a group of 10 people including 4 kids, Reubin hosted us with three boats, I was concerned about other two boats since they are less experienced than me. My brother, nephew and I went out with Mike Adams two full day trips on the middle Kenai and the upper Kenai. On the he middle we caught several trout, a Dolly Varden and a few Sockeye. We were in between runs on the Kenai and had to work for the salmon but Mike’s knowledge and expertise got us on some fish. We brought home 30lbs of Sockeye and we’re thrilled to do so. I've fished with alot of guides both here in Alaska and across the globe. Andrew is amongst the best. We left on time, one of the first boats on the water fishing the Kasilof River this morning for sockeye salmon. We enjoyed about a hour float seeing 5 or 6 moose feeding on the river bank, eagles nesting along the shoreline and even a seal moving up the river feeding. This time of year there's alot of boats and fisherman hustling to spots for there chance to fill their coolers and Andrew put us on "the spot". We had other fisherman to our left and right most of the day but we seemed to be catching when they weren't. Andrew coached and stayed attentive all day giving us those tips and tricks to improve our chances. When we had a fish on he would hustle (run) into the river with the net coaching us to land the fish. Natalie was absolutely amazing! Chels and I had a great day fishing with her. She provided all the gear and had Chels on a fish within a few casts. Staying at the lodge at the park and being able to find a local guide in town was the best thing we could have done. Chels was so stoked to find out Natalie also did sea kayaking. After having a difficult time booking them through Glacier Bay lodge it was just meant to be with Natalie. Chris was our guide for a full day of sockeye salmon. We had gone with another outfit a couple of days before and caught zero. We had a 9 year old and a 94 year old in our group. He made sure that they were safe and comfortable. He even built a fire in the rain to keep them warm. Chris reminded us when it was 15 minutes before we had to leave and wouldn't you know it, the fish starting hitting. He allowed us to stay until we got our limit of 24 sockeye salmon. This is a trip we will never forget. He then proceeded to filet the fish, What a masterful job he did! I had watched 4 or 5 Youtube videos, and he blew them away. My husband (who is much more experienced) was given Alaska specific guidance and advanced techniques. We caught loads of Grayling and had an unforgettable day on the water. We also rented gear from the fly shop for the next two days. Sam and those in the shop have us great tips and suggested hike in fishing holes. All proved to be great recommendations. EZ limit booked us a great salmon trip. River flows were high but they worked hard and found us a lot of fish. They booked us a variety of experiences and fishing methods which made each day a fun and unique experience. Captain Billy was AMAZING! He knew right where to take us to see whales. At one point, two whales swam right by the boat on the right side, while another whale was jumping on the left side! It was incredible. We spent all afternoon watching the wales play and feed together. Captain Billy also took us to see bears on the shoreline (watching from the boat). So fun! The boat was clean and had all the accommodations we needed. Captain Billy was able to answer all of our questions and told us stories about the history of the native tribe as well as the island and town. Over all, it was a 5 star experience. It was much more than just another great fishing trip. The variety of experiences, the natural beauty (lots of whales and bears!), getting to know the incredible Clark family were highlights. The Coho fishing was stellar in several different rivers. The Dolly Varden fishing was something to behold, at times a fish on virtually every cast. My husband and I flew to Alaska from San Diego and had a fishing trip planned with our guide Bill to go silver salmon fishing. We started our day at 5:30 am because Bill wanted to ensure we had the best spot on the river. The last couple weeks were slow for salmon fishing and Bill wanted to give us the best possible chance to catch something. It was extremely cold, 30 degrees but Bill packed two portable heaters. I was extremely grateful because I am not used to that kind of cold! I caught 2 giant salmon and the other couple caught 3. We were really because the other boats only caught 1 or nothing at all. Bill is a really genuinely good guy. We chatted for hours and I can just tell he is a hard working genuinely nice person. It is hard to come by people like him him. I booked with Fisherman’s Choice last minute and they were able to fit my wife and I into a trip to go King salmon fishing easily. Ray was our guide and I couldn’t have asked for a better charter. The scenery was amazing and Ray made sure everyone was set up and had the best fishing equipment they needed for the day. The gear and bait was top notch. Although the catch that day wasn’t quite as bountiful as we expected, Ray made the trip memorable for use and if wasn’t for him I’m not sure we would have had as great of a time. We booked a half day halibut excursion after our previous booking called and cancelled on our group of 3. I was able to get on Captain Eric's boat. While the fishing was slow, we caught one halibut and one type of rock fish, we saw soo many humpback whales, stellar sea lions, herring fluttering on the water, the tour was worth every penny even with the lack of fish reeled in. We had booked the full day walk-in / wade-out on the Russian River to fish for King salmon. Unfortunately, due to the King salmon being way behind expected arrival times and a ban on catching and keeping any Kings we felt this would be a useless trip. The owner was pleasant and worked with us to find a suitable solution. We agreed on a partial refund and a 1/2 day fishing excursion on the Kenai. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Had several trout on the line, but couldn't land them. Since trout is a catch and release fish, it was no big deal to not get them into the boat. The scenery along the river was beautiful.See more..

My fiance and I had a wonderful time with captain Al and his first mate Flynn. We have been on many fishing charters in the gulf of mexico and off the east coast. Just from the interaction Captain Al and Flynn had with our group made it the most fun. We were able to catch nice size under halibut and large over halibut. My fiance's halibut was close to 100 pounds. We came home with almost 75 pounds of halibut fillets. the fish processing at reel em inn was seamless and very fair pricing. This made it extremely simple for us to bring our catch back to the east cost. we also had two nights lodging at reel em inn which was also very reasonable and good hospitality. We had a wonderful time catching sockeye salmon during our Alaskan vacation and we're getting to enjoy them now back home in Louisiana! We arranged our fishing trip in advance with Kenai Wild Fishing and opted for the combo salmon fishing trip. In retrospect we should have just booked to fish for Sockeye as the King were not biting at all which meant we paid extra for that stamp on our license as well as to put the rods out for no action at all. Nevertheless, we had a blast fishing and catching our limit on sockeye and Joe was the perfect guide in helping our group achieve that goal! I used their services to visit the 5 National Park Service sites up in that neck of the woods in July, 2022. Quite simply they were great. These parks and monuments are a bit out of the way, and they are magical. The first thing you'll notice are all the beautiful picturess mountains. As you enter the bay,several kinds of whales start showing up and still before your feet hit the ground, you will see eagles everywhere, hundreds of them. Once on land, there are shops to see and plenty of eateries to choose from. We found our guide, Phil Jones and set off on our trek. Josh was recommended by our air bnb host to go do a wildlife/sightseeing tour. He went out of his way to take us out at the last minute as we were only in town for one day. He was a great knowledgeable guide and patient with me as I struggled with the binoculars. Had a fantastic morning out on the boat with him. My family and I had an amazing fishing trip with this outfit! Cory was able to get us on one of his boats on short notice when every other company was pretty much booked! Our guide was amazing and got us on a Kenai King! We couldn't believe how big this fish was. What an amazing opportunity! We had such a good trip we booked with him the following day. All 4 of us on board limited out on Sockeye Salmon! It was very safe on the raft or on the banks although there was an aggressive black bear moving around. Guarantee the best fishing guides ever. Travis and Lori are so accommodating and kind. It's clear they are doing what they love and love doing what they do. We went to the Kenai for the salmon run and Travis took us out to the secret spots. When no one else was catching fish - WE WERE because he understood the migration and the flow of the fish and the tides. I thought fishing was as easy as tossing a hook in the water - it can be - but if you're serious about catching a fish he can show you some techniques to really maximize your catch! In our group of 12 people, we had everything from 5 to 71 years old and experts to novice fishermen... EVERYONE was happy and came away from that experience thrilled; our trip was saved because of Travis and Lori. I will be taking my daughter back for ice fishing in March. Our fishing charter experience was great! The Captain was very patient and dedicated to ensuring that everyone on the charter caught a king salmon. We didn't have any luck for almost 5 hours so he kept trying to find the sweet spot, which finally happened. And his assistant was particularly helpful as my friend and I were stranded at Deshka Landing after our ladies left us to go Denali flight-seeing. Family friendly adventure!!! Family was visiting Alaska from California. We were in Cooper Landing and called Erick. Good decision! Erick provided us with things to do before our fishing adventure. During our day on the river, Erick was a great guide. He gave us plenty of opportunities to catch fish and explained a good deal about the history of the area. He cleaned a trout for us and showed us what the fish had been feeding on, giving us a little history lesson to boot. My brother in law and I booked a charter and Capt Nick did an awesome job taking us up and down the Copper River. Caught more fish from the boat than previous two times going it alone on shore. Wish I had more time for a few more floats on the river. Mark and his crew do a fine job making sure your nets stay wet and the boat ride was never boring thanks to good conversation with Capt Nick.
