Just plain old fashion fun fishing!
This was a privately booked excursion taken while on a week long Alaskan cruise with my wife. Went out on 18 July with three fellow cruise ship passengers and one solo traveler. Had a great time fishing for halibut. I caught one, although not a giant, it made the whole outing totally worth it. Others caught fish as well. Saw some dolphins as a bonus. Would recommend!

Amazaing fishing charter
Amazing time! There were 5 of us and we caught our limit and then some! We could only keep 1 a person but the fishing was spectacular! We even caught a cod! Herm was a great captain and knew right were to go to catch the fish. We were well worn out from reeling in all the fish we caught and kept as well as threw back. They were well aware of the ship arrival and departure time and everything went smoothly. The meet up instructions are easy and Herm was there waiting to meet us! I would highly recommend using them versus booking through the ship as you support the local guy with no cut going to the cruise ship.

Halibut Honey Hole
Our cruise was diverted last minute to Icy Strait/Hoonah and we wanted to find a fun outing. We connected with Herm and arranged a halibut fishing trip. Herm was running two boats that day and we were placed with Josh. Josh was a lot of fun had a great sense of humor and made the trip a blast. He took us to a great spot in about 170 feet of water. Josh would beat our lines and we drop them down jig a few times and almost immediately we’d have a fish on the line which we had to drag back to the surface. There were four of us on the boat and everyone caught at least 10 to 12 fish. There weren’t a lot of huge keepers in the mix but we were certainly busy and had a great time. We also grabbed a couple of cod during the outing. On the way back to the port, Josh went out of his way to diverta so we could see humpback whales who were feeding. That was really cool to watch them surface bob their heads then go back underneath several times. Would definitely connect with them again if we were in the area.
