Fun Packed Week in Fairbanks Alaska

We, as a group of 18 neighbors, were lucky to have Dave, Tyler and Barbara as our drivers and guides for the Heritage Tour of Fairbanks one day; Chena Hot Springs and Northern Lights Tour another day: Aurora Viewing Cabin still another day: and finally for the Arctic Circle Trip. They packed a lot of vacation into one week for us. All were very attentive to our needs as an "active adult" (read senior) group! The information/narration along the way was excellent. They were always punctual when it came to picking us up at our lodge. Although we did not see the full Auroras, we did get a glimpse of them on the Arctic Circle Trip. All in all it was a great experience with Dave, Tyler and Barbara and would recommend Alaska Wildlife Guide for excursions in Fairbanks Alaska. Thank you!

    AMAZING Experience
I cannot say enough good things about this excursion, and in particular our guide, Tony. He was absolutely phenomenal and really made the experience. It was immediately obvious that he is extremely knowledgeable about Alaska. He told us interesting story after story, keeping us riveted the entire 5-6 hours to the Arctic Circle. It was also obvious that he could hold his own on the Dalton Highway and that our safety was his first priority. This was the experience of a lifetime, traveling the Dalton Highway, crossing the Yukon River, and crossing the Arctic Circle, and Tony made the experience all the more memorable.

Northern Lights and Chena Hot Springs Tour from Fairbanks
We got a call before our scheduled tour and we were promptly picked up in a comfortable van. The drive to the resort was comfortable and Angie even stopped at the one general store on our way to Chena (I would recommend bringing your own water to the resort as they only provide sulfur water and bottle water if available). We arrived at Chena and it was a bit chaotic but Angie took care of getting the lanyards for the hot springs and telling you where to go. If you could eat dinner before the tour, I would highly recommend it- the food was expensive and bland, beware of the water as it smells like the hot springs (eggs). Note: they do not accept Amex. Then you head to the hot springs, they provide you a towel (make sure to bring multiple coins or bills to exchange for quarters and slippers). The locker room, shower, and stalls are disgusting. I would highly recommended wearing flip flops and as the floor was filthy. This is no fault of the Alaska Wildlife guide but being that they bring guests here through their tours it has to be said- the Alaska Wildlife guide should provide this feedback to them. The hot spring was wonderful it was 12 degrees out and the water temp is 109. At 11:45 you start to wrap up for your drive back to Fairbanks. The Aurora lights were not visible that night at the hot spring nor on the drive back. Angie was a great tour guide! She made the drive entertaining and was awesome about taking pictures of us in the hot spring.
