Phenomenal Experience at Alaskan Husky Adventures
This was our first dog sled ride. The staff (Liz and Kaci) are phenomenal, know their trade and dogs, and safely scared off two large moose (adult male and female). Liz gave us our initial briefing which include the history of 17th dog. Kaci have us our safety brief and was the sled driver. She took immediate evasive action when we saw the 2 large moose cross in front of us while maintaining command and control of the 9 dog sled team. This is a do again if we ever visit Alaska again. Also please ensure that you have clothing rated for below zero degrees, coat, boots, undergarments, and gloves. Go Army beat Air Force! : - )

    Exceeded our expectations!
We had a fantastic experience at Alaskan Husky Adventures. They couldn't have been nicer to us, from making our reservations over the phone to welcoming us on their property. These experienced and impressive Iditarod racers were super knowledgable and answered all our questions. The dogs are obviously very well loved and cared for, and just adorable. The team spent a lot of time letting us pet the dogs and learn about their personalities and how they train. Then we spent a good amount of time on the trail, making some pit stops to let the dogs rest. After, we took a nice little walk with the dogs trotting freely with us and had a look at the handmade sled. I liked the special carts that they used for the summer tours. I found them to be more authentic to real dog sleds than what some of the dog sledding tours use (what look like golf carts). Our family of 7 (preschool age to senior citizen) voted what our favorite Alaskan activity was after our 9-day trip, and 3 of us picked Alaskan Husky Adventures. (Keep in mind we did some big bucket list activities - saw base camp and climbers while flightseeing over Denali, had pods of whales traveling with us on a wildlife cruise in Seward, and went river rafting!) That's a tough line up to compete with but Alaskan Husky Adventures obviously made an impression. Matthew & Liz (and team) have a nice tour operation and should be proud of what they've created over the last year!
