Easy way to get aroun town
Everything is uphill from the cruise dock, but the free schoolbus size shuttle takes you to several stops, to see the museums, brewery, etc. and points out some historic siites and restaurants.

free shuttle in Haines
If you are visiting Haines there is a free shuttle that can drive you around town - stops include the pier, brewery, fort stevens and other key places. It would be great if the shuttle could extend to the entrance of the Chilkat State park trailhead.
