Definitely worth a visit while in town!
Quick review to let everyone know that this NP Visitor Center is definitely worth whatever time you can devote to seeing the exhibits, and taking in a wide range of movie options. They have a binder of DVDs from lots of different NPS facilities, not just the several nearby, and this is all basically right across the street from the airstrip. Also important to note there is a small bookstore inside, and the wifi may be the best in town!

Great info & displays; great price (free)!
I spent a couple of hours in the Heritage Center and thoroughly enjoyed listening to the stories and reading about the history of Kotzebue. The museum is quaint, yet full of character. Following my museum tour, I visited the gift shop where I had a very lovely conversation with the clerk and purchased several fantastic souvenirs. My favorite purchase at the gift shop was a variety of postcards - they are designed to appear vintage with really great prints of Eskimos. I love sending postcards and this was the only place in town that had some.
