    - Best tour

    Quest Expeditions image
The wife and I booked a tour with this company and it was amazing!!! We lucked out and got Maggie as a guide. OMG! You should request her. I would recommend her as a guide because she will allow you to do things things that most guides won’t try. We performed 360’s, drop surfings (we got pulled in 4 times at Double Suck which was truely an awesome experience) that just left other guides in awe. We got some some MAJOR splash time thanks to Maggie. The facilities are good with curtained changing stalks for women. The store was full of shirts and last minute essentials. We enjoyed our trip very much and want to say again THANK YOU Maggie!!! See more..
  2. 5.0 Cumberland County Playhouse (471 reviews)
    - I Wish We Had CCP In Our Town!
    Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Theaters
    Cumberland County Playhouse image
We try to vacation at Fairfield Glade in the fall of each year. We always try to schedule our trip around the schedule of performances at Cumberland County Playhouse. This week we saw "Leading Ladies" and "The Buddy Holly Story". Both were fabulous. While this is Off-Broadway, the actors always do a great job entertaining the crowd. I'd just like to see more young people in the audience. And, by the way, we appreciate that the concession stand doesn't price gouge for refreshments. The prices are always reasonable. Thank you for that! See more..

Took the mid Ocoee tour. It took about three hours. Six of us in the raft with the guide Ky. Ky knew the river really well and guided in a way that had us navigate it safely while still getting wet and having lots of excitement in an adventure on the river. The staff was all very friendly and we were happy to go with a family owned outfit rather than one of the large outfitters - this also saved us o about $20 per person! I would definitely use Cascade Outdoors again. See more..

    - Amazing experience!
    Friday: River Rafting & Tubing
    Rapid Expeditions image
My 10 year old son and I went on the Lower Pigeon River family float with Lisa as our guide. It was the first time for both of us. We really wanted to experience rafting in the Smoky Mountains--it seems like the thing to do while you are in the area. Lisa was fantastic! She foreshadowed each section of the river so we knew what was coming up, which sections would be a little rougher, if we might have a little bump due to a rock, when to paddle, where it was going to be a calm section to jump out and swim if you wanted to, etc. I loved that they took our picture on the river so we could purchase it at the end. Lisa was friendly and easy to talk to throughout our visit. She offered lots of encouragement and praise to both my son and I. I would highly recommend Rapid Expeditions! See more..

A friend and I had a perfect day on the Duck River. The folks at Higher Pursuits are knowledgeable, professional and VERY customer oriented. We have used other outfitters on the Duck and other rivers and Higher Pursuits are in an elite class of their own. The premium kayaks are worth the little extra that they cost for comfort, but all of their boats are quality. Go and enjoy the beauty of a paddle on the river. See more..

  14. 5.0 Chimneys Picnic Area (344 reviews)
    - Awesome spot to stop and visit even if you're not picnicking
    Parks
    Chimneys Picnic Area image
I ended up in Chimneys Picnic Area because my husband and I were going to hike the Cove Hardwoods Nature Trail (our legs needed a break...the trail was disappointing after the massive hikes we'd already completed). The picnic area though was absolutely beautiful. Great sites to hang out for the day including picnic tables and grills. We were there Memorial Day weekend and at the trail head around 9am and people were already staking out spots for the day. So I would recommend going very early to get the prime spots along the stream. See more..
  15. 5.0 Adventureworks (321 reviews)
    - Most fun you can have in the woods with your clothes on
Friday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
    Adventureworks image
We were on a roadtrip passing through Nashville and saw signs for zip-lining from the highway, which we followed with trepidation. Arrived at Adventureworks and Michael managed to fit us in between a couple of groups which was great as this was the only time we could have done it. The zip lining was obviously epic fun, but Michael was an absolute legend and the time I wasn't flying through the air I spent crying with laughter. Thank you for an epic afternoon! See more..

He knew so much about the area, the river and shared it all with us. Great day on the river! Highly recommend Big Frog! See more..
  17. 5.0 Canoe the Caney (304 reviews)
    - Excellent way to spend a day.
    Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Kayaking & Canoeing
    Canoe the Caney image
We were in Tennessee on the third day of a mostly spontaneous road trip and discovered that Tennessee has so much water! We determined that we should Kayak and found Canoe the Caney based on other positive reviews. We were not disappointed. We were surprised to find that the 9-mile "tour" we booked did not actually include a guide, but we soon learned that we didn't need one. The river itself is gentle and straightforward and we very much enjoyed our solitary (just the two of us) paddle downstream. We took lots of photos of Great Blue Heron and even saw some otters. The equipment was well kept, all of the employees we dealt with were competent and friendly. If we are ever in this part of Tennessee again, we would return to Canoe the Caney for another relaxing day. See more..

    Pigeon River Canopy Tours image
12 or 13 ziplines, most in the treetops across the river in the Cherokee National Forest. A lot of steps to get up to some platforms but relatively easy for a fat old guy like me... zipping back and forth across the Pigeon River was a highlight. Final zip was 1/3 of a mile, across the river reaching speeds og 55-60 mph... excellent staff- total focus on safety... See more..
  21. 5.0 Lynchburg Cake and Candy Company (278 reviews)
    - Places you HAVE to visit in Lynchburg, TN
    Factory Tours
Lynchburg Cake and Candy Company image
Mr. Thomas who owns this business gives you a personal tour of his company. The tour is short in walking distance, as we were a bit surprised when we drove up to the small Cake and Candy Company. We enjoyed every minute of our tour. His cakes and candies are delicious, and we stocked up on them for friends and family. Mr. Thomas is a treasure trove of information about not only his sweet treats but also about TN. This was one of our favorite tours in all of Lynchburg. Although the taste testing wasn’t liquid, every minute of our visit was worth the trip. Don’t miss out on this tour! It’s free! See more..

We have stayed at the Lake Ocoee Inn for the past, would be 5 years except for COVID, and taking the rafting trip down the lower portion of the ocoee. We bring our youth group each year in June as a treat and a great beginning to the summer. We have always enjoyed rafting with this company. They are always very friendly, and professional. Every guide we have had (Jimbo, Brad, Ginny etc.) has been amazing! The rooms at the Inn are always very clean and nice. The beds are extremely comfortable and it's a peacful area. 24. 5.0 Carolina Ocoee (254 reviews)
    - Awesome trip!! Ask for Megan!!!
Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 AM River Rafting & Tubing
    Carolina Ocoee image
Such an awesome trip!! If you are looking for quality, friendliness and a safe wild ride, you cant beat Carolina Ocoee. Our guide was Megan and we HIGHLY recommend her as your guide. She made our trip super fun and knew just how to tackle the rapids so that you definitely get soaked. Very knowledgeable and experienced guide! Here's a few tips we picked up: *If you want to get super soaked and have front action, ride in the front * If you want to stay dry(er) sit nearer to the back *Work together with paddling...watch the person next to you and make sure you are both rowing on her count. *Definitely take advantage of the swimming area during the trip, it cools you off and is just super relaxing to just float on your back downstream. *whoever your guide is, if you really want to get soaked, ask them if they can "surf" the boat...its really fun! Overall, would definitely go with them again!! See more..
  25. 5.0 Newfound Gap (251 reviews)
    - Spectacular Winter Scenery
    Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Scenic Drives
    Newfound Gap image
Newfound Gap in Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the lowest drivable pass through the Great Smoky Mountains. Standing at an elevation of 5,048 feet. Newfound Gap captures the essence of the Smokies: like the Park, it lies half in Tennessee and half in North Carolina. Newfound Gap provides wonderful mountain views atop this high ridge. Clothed in a mixture of spruce-fir and northern hardwood forests it supports a wide variety of plant and animal life. Millions of people drive through Newfound Gap annually. Also at Newfound Gap is the Rockefeller Memorial. A two-tiered stone structure, this monument is a thank you to the Rockefeller family's $5 million donation to complete the Park's land acquisition. Without this generous gift, the dream of a Great Smoky Mountains National Park would remain unfulfilled. It was at this spot in 1934 that President Roosevelt dedicated the National Park. See more..

They were both informative, patient and considerate with every person in the larger group and knew every one of us by name. They were even very thoughtful and proactive in making sure I was best positioned on the platforms to get pics of my kids coming into the landings. See more..

Leiper's Fork Distillery is a small batch whiskey distillery located in Williamson County, Tennessee. Since filling our first barrel in the Spring of 2016, our goal has been to resurrect the lost art of small batch whiskey production that was prevalent in the hills of Middle Tennessee from its earliest founding. Traditionally, Tennessee has been counted among the four main whiskey making regions of the world, along with Scotland, Ireland and Kentucky. We are proud of this heritage and aim to carry on this tradition in the fine whiskeys we produce. We offer tours & tastings Tuesday through Sunday with hours from 10:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. See more..

Hard hike, especially the second half, but the view at the end is absolutely worth it! One of my favorite hikes in the smokies. Would love to do it again. Note that it's a little difficult to get to the trailhead parking since you have to travel on a narrow gravel road for about 3 miles. You can make it to the trailhead just fine in a car, but it would be easier if you had a truck or SUV to use instead. See more..

    Smoky Mountain Adventure Tours image
We spend little time outdoors. We have no experience with vehicles such as a UTV. The tour started out along the backroads, which was nice, because it allowed me to get a feel for the vehicle. I thought it would be fun to drive, and my passengers were my teen daughter and my husband. The ride through the mountains was THRILLING to say the least! Up and down rocky trails, the UTV went up the mountain with such power. There were times I was terrified, but when we got to the top....the VIEW. Amazing. Beautiful. But......we had to go back down then. Again, terrified at times, but this ended up being so fun and is such a memorable experience for us! Our guides and staff were great-- Friendly. Our guide made sure we knew how to operate the UTV and helped to make me feel more relaxed. Well worth the money! If you are going to the Smoky Mountains, this is a must do! See more..

    Watauga Kayak image
After much research I chose to book with Watauga Kayak for our first ever whitewater rafting adventure. My husband, two grandsons (12&13) and myself had an amazing trip with our guide, Jerry. We booked the Explorer trip. Jerry was fun, knowledgeable about the area and sites along the river, courteous and very safety conscious. I would not even consider booking elsewhere after seeing the other outfitters on the river. Watauga has the best prices, longest amount of actual on the water time, plus it’s the only local family owned outfit on the Watauga. We stayed outside of Jonesborough at the Koa and the 30 min drive over to Elizabethton was well worth it. Whether you book their most popular trip (the classic) or splurge for the Explorer you will not regret booking with Watauga See more..

We were on a couples trip and decided to go white water rafting for the first time. This was a great experience and thrilling activity. Mack was our guide and we all thought he was the best, with a lot of personality, jokes, great stories, and historical and river information that kept the trip interesting. The sign up process is easy, and you can fill out all forms prior to arriving, saving time. They give you all the equipment needed, and offer comprehensive safety training. We all felt confident after this training. The lower Pigeon river offers a great mix of floating, large and smaller rapids, and a beautiful scene for the trip. We were able to jump out at one point for a quick swim which was invigorating. We cannot wait to go again, and we would absolutely use NOC again. Great experience and a highlight of a wonderful couples trip. See more..

Tennessee River Monsters Fishing Guide Service - Striper, Catfish & Musky image
Captain Scott and Captain Brycen provided an unforgettable adventure for our three families. The striper bite wasn’t on so we targeted blue’s/flathead’s and within 15 minutes we had our first fish over 35lbs. We went on to catch 20+ catfish, several well over 20lbs, with one weighing over 50lbs. Our families have young kids and the patience and instruction was top notch as was the professionalism of both Captains. This is my second time using Tennessee River Monsters guide service and I would highly recommend them for your next fishing adventure! Thanks you Scott and Brycen! Jason S. See more..

    - Great hike

This was not a difficult or long hike, but it was quite enjoyable. It is a bit off of the beaten path, so it wasn’t as crowded as some other areas. Follow the signs for the Tremont Institute. When we visited, the small parking area near the institute was closed off, but there was a parking area to the right just before you’d make a left turn to go to the institute. Once we went past the institute gate, there were traffic cones with signs pointing in the direction of the hike. The falls were very pretty. There were plenty of rocks to sit on to enjoy the view of the falls. See more..

We went on the Jeep tour last year when in the Gatlinburg area. Our guide Whitney was absolutely amazing so amazing when we came back again this year With some other family members we made it a point to go on the tour again just so they could experience how amazing the mountains were and with her as a guide it makes the experience so much better. They absolutely loved It as Much as we did. I would definitely go back again. A must do ask to have Whitney as your guide. See more..
